Hi all
I have a 2 x Luna and P2 set up, it has been working fine in this PC f about 8 years, suddenly I got a few of those 'Register your cards' dialogs (the ones where it says Import keys etc) but seemed ok after ignoring them (they appeared and disappeared); anyway that was a week ago, now turn on and no audio output, despote all appearing OK - mixers all ok, signals appearing down the line (in Live) etc, all seems to be OK but no sound. Amp OK, connections OK.
Tried to reinstall, it did not like the key import, then did, then got stuck on the XTC page.
Basically, the software seems to have gone a bit funny, also the hardware now is not outputting.
How would I fix this, is it - remove all cards, reinstall after uninstall? I can't find Scope or Creamware in Uninstall on Win XP (is fast oldish PC).
Or is it old cards, unreliable?
Thanks
Audio output stopped after many years...
Re: Audio output stopped after many years...
first you need to know if it is hardware or software problem.
I doubt all the cards together got damaged, so i'd try to run scope without xtc and see if audio works.

If you haven't already, I would re-seat all your cards, clean gold contacts with a clean white eraser for pencils (great for removing oily residue).
Not because it is easy, but because it is hard...

Hi
I am not using XTC, it just comes up with the dialog in the re install, then fails.
Reseating the cards, yes I can try that, but they are all visually working (ie, sound goes through and out the mixer etc) but no output on either of the 2 Luna jacks.
I have been really busy so will check all this out next week. Thanks for the help!

another thing to try, delete all hardware and software destination modules from the project and re-open them.
Re: Audio output stopped after many years...
yes, the project might be corrupted. also, make sure the hardware end is in good shape, too. double check the cables going to the speakers and their connections, as well as the monitor system.
it's possible for the output on the card to fail, but it's not as likely as other parts of the chain. the dsp part is ok, or Scope wouldn't start.

Re: Audio output stopped after many years...
Thanks everyone I will report back next time on the music system, this week sometime. I have several computer jobs on at same time so bit rushed!
Incidentally I have been digitizing 70s/80s recordings of Sheffield bands, H League, Cabaret Voltaire etc. Done some then system stops working.

Re: Audio output stopped after many years...

Just thru the Scope Project window?
Glad it's sorted

Re: Audio output stopped after many years...
Yes. But the system had been goofing up on start, asking for keys and all that. Getting old I guess.

you can keep the older keyfile from the previous install...geoffd99 wrote:Yes. But the system had been goofing up on start, asking for keys and all that. Getting old I guess.
Re: Audio output stopped after many years...
Sounds like the edge connectors (if you have a multi-card setup), or PCI slot contacts, may be getting old here.
I get that on occasion myself with my oooold cards. I leave the 'door' of my PC off, and reach in to push the cards firmly into their PCI slot.
If you have a multi-card setup, then are you presented with both Board ID's when asking for Key Auth?
Can you try pushing in the cards (if it happens again)?
