XP and 3.1 installation (has Creamware responded?)
I'm one of the folks who can't install the new software on my XP machine. I click the setup icon and nothing happens. I can see the inatallation software "running" in the task manager, but it never goes anywhere.
I tried installing that software from Adaptec, and every other bit if advice I've come across on the message boards, short of reinstalling everything from scratch.
Being an XP user, I've never been able to use my XTC card, it's been collecting dust for about five months now.
I've emailed Creamware's tech support, but haven't gotten any reply.
Has there been any official word from Creamware?

kiminet - did you try 3.1a? In the readme file, the first item they mention is XP install fixes, or something like this... I never had any problems installing 3.1 or 3.1a but try these tips (directly from Ingo/Creamware)
1. Do not install over the network. Install from a local drive.
2. Extract the .ZIP file with "full paths and folders." (or similiar words)
3. Double check that all files in this install directory only have the attributes "+A." Select the entire directory, right click, and uncheck any other attributes.
4. Install the latest ASPI drivers.
5. Run the installer (have your allkeys handy), it should work... (alternatively try the installer.exe instead of setup.exe in the root)

Do you mean "+A." as "Archive" attribute ?
After unzipping an original SFP archive the files have "Read only" attr. !?!

Not sure.. maybe the files get +R (readonly) when they are burned to a CDR or something. It's worked for at least one person and it only takes 5 seconds to change, so I included it in there.

For all of those poor people who are still banging their heads against their keyboards due to this lame install 31/31a problem:
If you haven't already fetched it, get the latest SFP update to 31c. Unzip the file (with subdirs ofcourse) and copy *only the dlls* from the setupbin dir to your SFP31a setupbin dir (overwrite the old ones). Copy also the installer.exe. Now try to execute the installer and sit back.
Good luck (tut tut Creamware).

I've also had the exact same problem. The workaround, is to install 3.1a drivers only, and then install 3.1c. The thing is, the 3.1c installation only works the first time you try it. (install drivers->reboot->rest of the install) Once you quit, or let the installation process stop for some reason, you'll have to start all over again. (install 3.1a drivers) Just remember, 3.1c update has to finish in one go. You cannot close the window.

I had this same problem again, after updating my system. Had to install SFP again, 3.1a then 3.1c and the installer wouldn't go to "next" after importing the keys.
Luckily I found this thread and Kensuguro's tip did the the trick for me.
The 3.1c update works the first time, but not if you interrupt or abort it and then try again!
