Creamware A16 vs Sonic Core A16

Post by krizrox »

I managed to score a used Sonic Core A16 ultra (the black unit) in excellent condition on eBay (thanks Tom if you're reading this). Just curious although I think I know the answer...

Is there any significant difference in performance between the SC unit and the older grey CW unit or was it merely cosmetic? They look mostly identical except for the obvious color and silk screening on the front.

There is another difference though - the new A16 had a big-ass wall wart. I mean it's almost ridiculous big. My older CW unit came with an in-line PS which I kinda like better. Both are 12V output but the older unit has a higher amperage rating. Any reason to believe they aren't interchangeable?
