Hi Guys
I'm using SONAR X1 LE with SCOPE 5.1, and no matter how many ASIO DRIVERS I load in my scope project, only 4 from the list in SONAR will maintain their "checked" status and remain useable. (see image attached).
Example, right now, I've got 8 stereo ASIO drivers loaded in SCOPE (both source & dest - ASIO1 32 Source 64), and every time I try to check the additional empty boxes in the SONAR PREF's / audio / devices dialogue, as soon as I hit "apply" or save them, it reverts to the limit of 4 checked, as in the graphic attached.
I've got Cubase LE, but I like Sonar's interface better and would rather use it.
Thanks for any hints or suggestions!
Gary

Re: missing ASIO drivers in SONAR
that looks correct. Sonar X1 LE allows 7 total ASIO i/o and that's what is showing.
what is tripping you up is that each of those boxes represent a stereo pair. do you see the labeling on the right? this is the retarded way that Cakewalk has always named ASIO ports, by the odd numbers, in other words, instead of counting input one left, input 1 right, the way that they are labeled in Scope or ASIO's maker Steinberg, Cakewalk(Sonar) labels 1, 2, 3, 4...1 being 1 left in Scope and 2 being 1 right in Scope. therefore, the ASIO channels in Sonar are labeled 1, 2, 3, 5, all odd numbers because they reprent a stereo pair.
confused? that's probably the point. Cakewalk never wanted to support ASIO, the standard made by their mortal enemy Stenberg. that's giving your rival money even when you sell product.

thanks GB
maybe i'll have to bite the bullet & learn cubase

Re: missing ASIO drivers in SONAR
why? Sonar works great. yours is working fine. four stereo i/os equals eight mono i/os. it's only supposed to have eight.
