Anyone have anything fanless in their PC that usually has a fan?
My current power supply is 650W but the fan sometimes gets stupid loud so I'm thinking of going fanless with 500W. The PC doesn't use more than 250W when idle.
Fanless PC...without liquid cooling
Re: Fanless PC...without liquid cooling
I use a PSU which has a fan which only goes on when over a certain temperature (so is always off really), and have fanless heat sinks for the graphics card and CPU.
Basically no fans run in my PC, but I have some temperature controlled fans as a backup, which kick in when the temp gets over a certain value. One is directed at my Pulsars with the sensor in between them.
I usually buy my fanless components from QuietPC, see http://www.quietpc.com/powersupplies for some quiet PSUs. I use a Nesteq one myself.
