D/A question !

Post by avlon »

A Simple question community!

When I work only with the sequencer without any analog sources , is there any Importance to the sample rate amount? (like if it's higher it's better)?

thanks.

I often remix material recorded years ago, with updated VST's and Scope plugins and a higher sample rates. I find the mixes benefit from Scope mix/mastering and the higher sample rate, even if the mix is compressed down to MP3 later.

You should use the sample rate that most of your samples are in. If you're only using VSTis, then go with 96khz because anything more will heavily tax your CPU once you start adding more tracks.

P.S. VSTis are for kids anyways :P

So is the XBOX 360 but I got one anyway, and I read somewhere the average age of gamers these days is in the 30's.

I reckon the average age for Kontakt users would be even higher, so there goes that theory !
