I love the way some towns are so against raising property taxes that they decide they would rather lay off all the police. As you can imagine, this doesn't have a good result. People can't look ahead. They are so stupid.

name a township where this property tax thing is a problem.

do you know where there's the least amount of crime in the USA? it's not where there are the most police. it's where there are the fewest restrictions on gun ownership and the right to carry a concealed or non-concealed weapon. those areas have virtually no crime at all. it probably helps that in those areas, people tend to know each other.

property taxes are not for protecting people's rights. property taxes were first extablished to reduce independance. without property taxes, one can sit on one's property and defend it like one's own personal kingdom. there's no way to force compliance because there's no mechanism to remove someone from their property as it really belongs to the owner. with a property tax one no longer owns one's property outright, it belongs to the state. the proof? if you don't pay the tax, the state takes the property.

anyway BC, what does your rant for raising property taxes have to do with the intelligence of the people in the Hillbilly Blood series?

There should not even be any state or local government because they have proven time and time again to be incompetent. Don't ask me to backup my statements again. Why is it that those who never pay into the system want everyone else to pay more taxes.
Once I see the wealthy redistributors playing by the rules, putting their children in public schools, using the health care they claim is best for us, etc. I might listen to the fecal matter rolling from their mouths.

they pay property taxes in Camden NJ, a place that is a legendary butthole of a city for all of my 50 years. all the business in Camden is gone and Camden is connected to the Philidelphia metropolis. it's a slum full of abandoned buildings and people with no jobs. hell yes crime is up there! it's not from the lack of property taxes though. Camden is as citified as it gets. several years ago there was a huge scandal. the Mayor ran FOUR crack squads! yes, four squads selling crack, one of which was monitored from the Mayor's office window. i don't think Camden is a good example of small towns being too stupid to pay taxes and firing the cops. the cops ARE the criminals in Camden, it's legendary as the filthiest place in the country and Camden is the big city! also, Camden is the place with the most people on federal assistance in the country, or close to it. there's how great federal management works!

the Texas article says that crime initially skyrocketed, then went back to normal. for a town of 1200, skyrocketing crime would be an extra few incidents a week.

the Oregon article is a strictly inflamatory story. i don't see any of those places turning into killing fields suddenly. did you go to Google to find these stories at the last minute?

anyway, the reason that these "services" were stopped, it that property taxes or no, the people in those areas can't afford to have their own police departments. it's not that they just won't. the communities aren't that wealthy. if you remember, Andy over in Maybury's office was only open limited hours. he only had one deputy, Don Knotts. 50 years ago, a small town only having a couple of officers who only worked normal shifts during the day was the way things were. somehow, everyone survived just like those small towns will survive right now. i mean, these are communities with only 1200 or less people in the population. the grown men in the town can handle anyone who seriously gets out of line.

do you really believe intelligence is measured by where someone lives or how well they follow the suggestions of their "betters"? if so, that's a sign of reduced mental capacity in itself.

just because someone's been to School doesn't mean that person knows anything.

Hillbilly Blood is a very entertaining show that also shows something about the world and how reality works. it shows what people are capable of in a cool kind of way, if you still have intelligence and imagination, anyway. it's not reality, it's a TV PROGRAM, software for hardware. it's still prety cool though.
