Analog Synth

Post by yayajohn »

i have an old yamaha CS-5....? Anyway i'm trying to keep it running after 30+ yrs and was wondering if anyone might know if the key contacts might be gold or copper? Would it matter using Deoxit Gold on copper (if that's what it is) or would there be something better?

I awlays thought the "Gold" distinction just meant is was a better product. Next better being Platinum or such ;)

It should be fine ro use on copper, gold, or even Pots/Poti.

oh ok yeah that makes sense. i thought it was specifically meant for gold contacts. It seems to have worked, the keys work pretty good now although at first it wiped out some of the keys completely yikes! but I think I didn't wait long enough for it to dry.
