Using the native reverbs causes communication error

Post by Jonathan T »

Hello
I have a three card setup (Powersampler plus two Lunas) on an Intel DP35DP which has worked flawlessly for several years. In the last week or so it has suddenly developed a problem if I add any of the Masterverbs to a project - causes the message 'communication error with Powersampler board' etc. to come up - not when I load it but during subsequent playback. Although I haven't tested it exhaustively it only seems to happen on the original Masterverbs (Classic, Pro etc.) plus the E-Reflector. It doesn't happen with EQ or Dynamics or any of the SC reverbs e.g. Plate, RMX160 etc. I can reset with the dsp re-allocation message but it happens regularly again on restarting playback. Has anyone come across something similar - is there anything I should try to attempt to resolve this?

Many thanks

Jonathan

Thanks Gary I'll try - is using an eraser the best way? Or contact cleaner?

eraser is good if you're not too rough. otherwise a good commercial cleaner is the thing. you can also use 99% alcohol. *beware* do NOT use rubbing alcohol or alcohol less than 99% pure!
