I started with the Emulator II and Ensoniq Mirage and over the years went to the E III and Roland S760s, Oberheim DPXs and the last sampler was the E5000 Turbo, and very rarely did I audition a sample that wasn't useful.astroman wrote: looks like it's come a long way from those EMU days... As a matter of fact I have a few on Solaris. The Old Fairlights Moods and some Spectrasonics stuff. The sample stuff from the '90s just sounds good still and doesn't really need articulations. Velocity switched layers or ModWheel switches work fine.
Also check out the Orange Tree Samples for Kontakt.
I have spent hundreds on libraries w/ good demos that sucked, but I got to watch him play in realtime on YouTube, and all of his Electric and Acoustic Guitars are great stuff.
Smart guy w/ chops too as he used a toy controller, but it didn't matter.
I think next decent pay I am going to get the Rickenbacker just because I keep hearing Roundabout and Siberian Chef..............sorry............I mean Khatru.
