Warning about Lotigech products
As you may know, I have always been a supporter of Logitech products, I have used nothing but their mousses and keyboards and have bought all sort of products from them for years and years for myself and my clients. Well, it seems that everything has its time…
There are still some good products from them, but you cannot buy without trying anymore, don’t get Logitech products with closed eyes, you will fail.
Logitech used to be a synonym of perfect ergonomics and quality; they are no longer that, they have become a huge distributor of mediocre quality and bad ergonomics products since about three years ago. Many of their new keyboards are rubbish, letters and numbers will get deleted in about a couple of months, will start to behave in a different way, I mean, wear very fast, and plastic quality is really bad in general.
What a shame, I don’t know where to look at now.
Which mouse and keyboards are still really good?

This is what I use as it easy to see in the dark, and matches my Sticky Yellow
Labels on the Controller..
The Mouse has Left/Right click buttons that are contained inside a nice ridge,
so I can draw/drag w/o my "flip the bird" finger screwing things up, as it can
rest on a ridge, instead of falling, which screws up my outlines..

Cheers Daw, but as a multimedia developer, what I'm looking for is something more traditional, it's not only for music, but for a wide range of activities in the keyboard.

You should then checkout the Multi Media Shuttle Pro that has DAW layouts and Video as well.

I already have a super mouse with a trillion possibilities, what I need now is a reliable, very well balanced, comfortable, and if possible, durable keyboard.

Re: Warning about Lotigech products
We have brand new HP wireless keyboards / mice at work, even though I asked for Logitech.
I had to swap my keyboard with someone else's, due to the shift key not releasing fast enough.
ALl my sentences would start with double capital. LIke this. WHich meant I would have to go back to correct them. OR slow down my 2 finger pecking order
So the issue is not isolated to Logitech, in fact I run Logitech at home (recent models wireless mouse) and they work fine.

razr products are good. Gaming stuff generally are very reliable and are very durable. I also only use logitech's top line mice so haven't felt the decline in quality. Maybe their keyboards suffered more quality loss than mice?
Re: Warning about Lotigech products
That is strange. I had a dream last night that my keyboard broke. It actually cracked open and I wanted to buy a metal one like an old electric typewriter.
The best and most expensive keyboards are for gamers.
I have a little wireless Logitech with built-in touchpad for my entertainment computer. Had it for a couple of months. It seems okay. Unique item. Not ergonomic because of the small size. One nice touch is a second left mouse button on the upper left corner.
My DAW keyboard is a larger wireless Logitech. Works great but it's older than 3 years and I only use it for Cubase.
Logitech has software called Logitech Unifying Software which allows you to use multiple keyboards on one computer. Not sure if anyone will find this useful.

Re: Warning about Lotigech products
I think the idea behind unifying receiver is that you can use your wireless logitech devices across multiple machines provided they all have the unifying receiver. Sort of a bluetooth replacement. (better battery life, etc)
Re: Warning about Lotigech products
So what happens when you have 2 computers in the same room (studio) with 2 people using thier mouse at the same time ?

Re: Warning about Lotigech products
You initially lock it on to one computer after you run the program and detect a new device.

I play 'mousewars' with the GF all the time.... its funny

Re: Warning about Lotigech products
Razer's quality is ok, but cable issues crop up a lot and they change lasers on products like crazy. Logitech's best products are in the past unfortunately.
However when it comes to keyboards specifically if you want something RELIABLE you probably want mechanical switches. This is a HUGE subject, so I'll just direct you here: http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mecha ... oard-guide
