Scarbee !
I love so much Scarbee bass that I cannot refrain from indicating you that :
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... newsletter
It's a new Scarbee bass and it is AW-SOME ! Like all the others.
For the ones who are like me : they don't have any bass player in there pocket...
It's incredible : it's exactly the bass I was looking for. My dream comes true...

Of course some of us have the real thing.

Arkadin you lucky bastard
I consider that bass to be the only thing that could distract me from my old Jazz. Had a Kasuga copy in the late '70's (my first bass) and have been djerabiny for a real one ever since.
The lack of a Ricky bass is the reason I don't use a pick to this day.

Re: Scarbee !
My pocket is rich.
Re: Scarbee !
Use to love that Rickenbacker sound, especially w/ the heavy picking of Chris Squire.
Thanks JoPo.
I unsubscribed from NI because they kept sending crappy synths and weak drums.
Now, I see they're back to the meat and potatoes instead of the Kazoos..

Hhhmm, could be the very reason I got one.dawman wrote:Use to love that Rickenbacker sound, especially w/ the heavy picking of Chris Squire.

Isn't the Scarbee Rhodes supposed to be the dog's bollocks? I was thinking of that or the Sonic Couture one as I really like their Wurli.
Re: Scarbee !
Just installed a Scarbee bass with Komplete 8. Too much software! But I will try it.
Re: Scarbee !
Brotha' Man Tony,
The Scarbee Rhodes in Gigastudio was awesome and so was the Wurlitzer. I tend to believe these were simple conversions and not re-sampled instruments as they play and sound worse in Kontakt, I would save my money and get the Neo Soul instead.
I use all PianoTeq stuff for all electro-mechanical and Acoustic Pianos now, much better.

Neo Keys Rhodes is great and now there is also the Radical Keys Rack Extension which is a whurly and a planetT as well :

Bass wise I thought I had it covered with a Yamaha, Jaco and the Kontakt and Halion stocks. Might have to shell for the Ricky as well.

Re: Scarbee !
On the rickenbacker demo page, what do they mean about the rickenbacker playing through 'this indie track' ?
I thought 'indie' meant that the band wasn't signed to a major label. Is 'Indie' now a genre ?

I know there are always jokes like "Oz is twenty years behind the UK" etc., but we had Indie in th 1980s in the UK.dante wrote:I thought 'indie' meant that the band wasn't signed to a major label. Is 'Indie' now a genre ?

Re: Scarbee !
Ok so if Indie is a genre, what's the word for a band signed to an independent label ?
Apart from 'poor' ...

Yes,- today, you´re a bigger star and better musician when NOT being signed to a major label.dante wrote: I thought 'indie' meant that the band wasn't signed to a major label. Is 'Indie' now a genre ?
But it has a price too ...
You now need 4 backup jobs to make a living.

Well,- that term could be a creation coming from a major A&R ...

Re: Scarbee !
"indie" acts are ALL signed to major labels, if they sell. the major label makes a small private label for the "indie" act, so that everyone can feel good about it, but it's still the major label that owns everything.
c'mon! it's 2013. no reason to remain naive...
indie is a style and a marketing racket.
i'm tired of hearing how a group "sold out", too. who doesn't want to sell out of their merch? why would you press 100,000 copies if not to sell out?

Re: Scarbee !
Thanks for the 'Indie' clarity. Back to the scarbee coolness, a Rickenbacker for $100. But how does it compare to this older product :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... HBi1yHpEyc
which includes the Ricky and seven other basses for not much more $$ ( $120) ?

Re: Scarbee !
well, i've been wrong too many times, but i wouldn't be surprised if it's the same sample set.
that would be a classic example of intellectual property and demand economics.
