Cubase VST Connect Remote Recording

Just read a review of this new toy in Cubase to record someone remotely into Cubase. Apparently it works. The remote software (performer side) is free and easy to use as it can be controlled by the engineer (or the performer). I would be worried about the quality of the performer's microphone A/D converter and the noise of the computer. Engineers have the good gear, usually not the performers.
