Problems digital recording

Post by Matti »

Hi!
I bought TC-Helicon VoiceWorks and it´s happend problems via digital recording.
I have Sonic Scope Pulsar II with Z-link in my computer. I´m connect digital cable VoiceWorks digital S/P-DIF Output to Input my computer S/P-DIF. The Microphon is conncted to VoiceWorks
microphone interface. The recording works, but after I listen the result in Adobe Audition sequencer the voice is fine, but some extra clicks arise and the result is not acceptable?
I´m wondering also that I can´t not working at all the recording across ASIO-driver only
via Windows Audition driver? I´m thinking somekind latency by recording. Come out of these
grounds the problems?

Please help

as mentioned by GaryB in another post:
if you have only the output of the TC device connected to Scope via S/PDIF,
you must slave Scope's clock to the S/PDIF input (samplerate setting dialog)

if the TC has digital input and output, you may slave the TC to Scope's clock
(which is done on the TC and requires both cables connected)

it's important that there can only be 1 digital master clock, you must decide which one

the Asio issue is difficult to understand... could you describe it in a different way ?

cheers, Tom

Yes WORKS No broblem. Very Thanks! I´m slaved the SCOPE and no problems.
But not via ASIO drivers, only via Audition Windows driver. Also In Adobe Audition 3.0 has two Audio drivers in Audio Hardware Setup (the Audition 3.0 Windows Sound and ASIO SCOPE to recording and by the instruction this software the best result is use the ASIO-drivers also in recording and also when master and mixes songs etc. after this. Before I´m bought TC VoiceWorks I use the analog system with ASIO-drivers ets and it´s works well. Now when I in this new digital system try use the ASIO SCOPE by recording nothing saved in Adobe? I´m active in SCOPE:s Routing Window S/P-DIF in and S/P DIF out and connect two cables in and out. The one from Output from TC in my computer and Output from computer to Input TC VoiceWorks. I´m think if the result by Windows drivers is worse then by ASIO-
drivers? Or is no matter whits way I use. Dat is the queston i´m thinking?
(Sorry my language is´t not well)

your sequencer can only use one asio driver at a time. you would need to enable the Scope driver in Audition to make anything happen, but then Audition will not be able to talk with the TC. after that, it's a matter of following the cable routings. if you like, post a screensot of the routing window.

so, upload a jpeg instead and write something....

anyway, i responded to your pm. your old project may be a problem. do you have a v4 folder on your computer? if so, you MUST remove or rename it.

I have the same problem. I want to slave Pulsar 1 by UA2192 clock. In my XTCProject file I have 4 modules, SPDIF source to ASIO2 Dest 64, ASIO2 Flt Source 64 to SPDIF dest. There was also a DirectPlay mixer which I removed because I think it's not necessary. Now I am getting an intermittent click in any program that doesn't have a slave/master option. The only one that works is FL Studio because it has the master/slave option. Does any other DAW have this option?
