I do prefer natural and I will probably will be getting Symphonic Choirs soon as I am told that the sale price of $250 is temporary. I'm just betting I can use it in the style I am doing. I know I want the men shouting for at least one piece.

The English speaking Vocaloids are trying to be natural and will probably evolve towards that in future Vocaloid engines or some other company will take over.

Someone wrote a free program to make cute little anime girls dance and sing songs you exported from the Vocaloid editor. It is a growing hobby. They just ported it over to English. It's not difficult to use.

There was also an album of Vocaloid singing which sold 86,000 copies in Japan.

Fake or more realistic, I think there is a future in this software. You can add effects and get more mileage out of it than has been done IMHO.

touche. well, not only is there a future, they've already been extremely successful with the Hatsune Miku package like Gary pointed out. Though, it's still definitely a niche market of anime hobbyist.. I do wonder how much revenue they're actually getting from the anime voices. Hatsune Miku has become somewhat of a social phenomenon, so the reach is pretty good, but still seems within a limited community.

Do bear in mind that if you do buy EWQLS Choirs that they were designed to be used in the context of backing an orchestra. Don't get me wrong, they're really good and probably the current version of wordbuilder etc is better than my version, but they're no substitute for the real thing obviously.

There are not many fake singers/choirs to pick from. I plan to use a lot of effects and editing/looping on EWQLS Choirs. I could imagine them in an ambient setting. I even manage to make my saxophone playing ambient. That is a trick! I'll give Symphonic Choirs Tourette Syndrome if I have to. This is something Eno would probably like.
