Interesting update, the new AMD chips ("Vishera" core) aka 8350 & 8320 from AMD seems to be both 1. overclockable & competitive performance wise with 3770's but $50-80 cheaper and 2. many AM3+ motherboards that will take a Vishera also have native PCI (rather than a PCI > PCIe bridge as with Intel).

It seems a bit risky to go with something so new when you are spending so much money.

Yea that was directed more at those that have been in this conversation than you, the platform is too new to recommend to a normal DAW user let alone a Scope user. But it would be interesting to see if an AM3+ board + Vishera cpu is stable for Scope as it probably offers more PCI bandwidth than an Intel build .... IF it works.

There is a new feature in Cubase 7 called "Bulletproof ASIO-Guard." I will be checking this out with Scope PCI next week. Not sure how it works. They are rather secretive about it. Probably it balances the load better during times of stress.

ASIO-Guard cannot be used for:
real time dependent signals
VST Instruments with more than one MIDI input
VST Instruments using disk streaming
VST Instruments using specific controllers (z.B. Maschine von Native Instruments)
VST editors/plug-ins used to control external sound modules and effects
External FX and instruments
Plug-ins using the VST Bridge

We can't tell you what it does until you buy it, then we'll understand what's in the upgrade.

Little delay here. Either my new MSI MB is defective or the i7 but probably the MB. First time this has happened to me.
