Not another STS problem thread

Post by yayajohn »

Yes :D

Not sure why but my STS's just stopped working and started crashing scope. They have been working fine for years on my PCI 32bit side windows XP. I reinstalled the scope 5.0 installer and checked my sample files on the other sample player and they work fine.

i'm open for any/all suggestions or links to pertinent discussions on Z (I did search though)

I was under the impression that 32 bit Scope 5.0 was fine and most of the problems were with the 64 bit 5.1

system memory is fine. No other problems with the system or with Scope either. I do have a dual Xite/PCI config though, but they are 2 different installs. Could that be a factor here, are there system files for the STS that the Xite-1 5.1 install could have overwritten?

even better would be if a project in one system was loading devices from the other system....

ok, that wouldn't be good. Are you saying that's what might be happening? hmm, It doesn't appear to be so in the paths when I load a project. I am also getting an error message when it doesn't immediately crash.
"cannot find conversion 0X1 - > 0X2 nonscaling"
Well I suppose if there are no solutions then I am probably looking at a reformat, I've been putting that off for a long time.
Thankfully my sample bank was loaded on a different drive so I won't have to go thru all that again.
Frustrating when the OS just corrupts things.
