JD800 Stansalone

Post by dawman »

I tried this way back when and was told to just have it in the project window, but it doesn;t have a path.
Whenever I use a Sample Oscillator I simply dumo all samples into the Sample Folder and the load buttoin on the Oscillator takes me right there, and I aslo have a significant folder full of vocals, strings, FM1SR EPs FX, hundreds.

What exactly is the JD800 Standalone meant for, and where would I install the Folder...?

It was meant as an alternative to the modular sample pool, but it is a standalone device. You can handle it like the modular sample pool but load it as a device, just drop it into your project window and open the surface. From there load samples into the pool, save it with all loaded samples, f.e. a vocal pool or a string pool etc. you can drag drop the samples from there to the sample OSCs.

The bad, if I remember right, it doesn't change it's filesize when you remove a sample, so it grows and grows. Something like that.

If you use the pool and build a modular using samples from the pool, you have to load the sample pool device before loading the modular, otherwise the samples aren't found by the sample OSCs.

OK THanks Chief.
But I have always used the Samples folder for all of Bowen synths, or Modular and never had a need for this, but I remember others commenting on they needed it.
Perhaps it's just the JD800 Patch that really needs it....

Anyways Thanks, It's all Good.
