This would be an interesting match-up. I would think that it would turn the Neko into a "real" real-time hardware workstation. By the Neko boards being based on windows, half of the work is already done.
Of course I think this should be based on Scope 6/Open Scope so that the Neko Developers have more customization options available and are not locked down to the older Scope paradigm

Just a dreamer dreaming on.
edit: Hmmm, yeah Im not sure about that price ....$6k whoa!! and thats without Xite
Scope Xite and Open Labs Neko Workstation!!!
Re: Scope Xite and Open Labs Neko Workstation!!!
it's not as cool as it seems. the concept is good. this was done years ago with Scope cards. there were 2 or 3 people who attempted this, iirc.
Re: Scope Xite and Open Labs Neko Workstation!!!
Yeah - the ol' StageFrame. Better to go thoroughbred - Solaris + XITE - way better sonic weapons for similar $$$
Re: Scope Xite and Open Labs Neko Workstation!!!
you wouldn't want to move that thing.
better to have a rack and a keyboard.

Real mic'd / direct PBass and well mic'd drums played by the first real power drummer last week into the 24 Track 2" Studer machine sounded huge, and Solaris, SE-1X and XITE-1 were the perfect choice.
They had a scratch track of Logic's EVB3 which was just buried even on tape. Scope's B2003 with the Neo Ventillator smothered it, then came the SE-1X and Solaris.
The sound of the drums actually are the most captivating tracks as they got the Bonham Room sound in the A Booth and it is impressive. I can barely tolerate computer generated drums after working with these guys.
But if I were to try and use a Motiff, Kurzweil or VSTi synth, it wouldn't seat well regardless of the make up gain or other tricks used.
I'd love to see the Open Labs Neko 88 they promised years back, but these days demand requires tracking rather than performing so 76 keys on the VAX77 and Neko are all we'll ever see.
But what a great workstation for the indoor stuff....
