Hi There
Is anyone having issues with Reason 6.5 and asio?
It hangs on me at the splash screen when I have 'ASIO2-flt Source 64' loaded into a SCOPE project.
Launching REASON without SCOPE loaded it will fire up.
With Reason open, I can then launch SCOPE with ASIO in a project and select the XITE-1 ASIO in Reason and everything works - once!
If I close REASON and reload it hangs again.
Any work arounds would be appreciated.
They ran Beta testing, which I signed up to, but I had a lot of problems just getting the Beta to work and they put out 6.5 before I could get anything meaningful working in the Beta. I have not as yet advised them of the ASIO issue. Has anyone else?
I am also having the 'Can't fimd the Iginition Key' issue talked about on the Reason Forums, but that is Propellerhead problem.

Re: Issues with Reason 6.5 and SCOPE 5.1 ASIO
Im using Reason 6.5 (only on WinXP 32 though) - hasn't happened to me yet - will do specific test on ASIO connection you mention.
In Reason 6.0 I sometimes got hangs on startup but they seems to have gone away now.

Thanks Dante,
I have managed to get ti to work by using a DirectX ASIO.
It plays back via a 24Bit Wave Source.
Its OK, but of course I would like it to work via SCOPE ASIO2.
I am thinking of trying to run it as a32 bit version and see what that does.
I use rewire mostly with Samplitude.
SAM is a 32 bit app so I would need to run it that way if I want the two to talk rewire wise.
Also I wil try to run it in rewire with Cubase 64 bit and see what happens.
Still can't get the Authoriser to recognise my ingintion key, so cannot download and try out any rack extensions - doh!

I didn´t install Reason 6.5.0 up to now, but use Reason 6.02 rewired to Presonus Studio One Pro v2 or rewired to Reaper 4.22 and both works with 'ASIO2-flt Source 64' after I launched SCOPE 5.1 on Windows XP Pro SP3 /32Bit.
In both cases, I have the Rewire-Channels pre-loaded in a Studio One project or Reaper project while in Studio one I open Reason rewired manually because it works that way via a popup window, but Reaper opens Reason rewired automatic once Reaper is launched.
No issues w/ both methods (if there is no message: "SCOPE ASIO driver not running",- which I only had when SCOPE failed loading accidently).
For me, once SCOPE is up, it works always.
Your authorisation issues, to me, indicate there are bugs in the Reason 6.5.0 version.
That´s why I´m waiting for the Reason (6.5.1) update, which comes usually a few weeks after a release of a Reason upgrade.
When Reason 6.0 was out, we´ve also seen v6.02 after some weeks.

Did you download latest Authorizer ? Not sure if there was one, or if Im just remembering this from a recent Kontakt issue.mausmuso wrote:Still can't get the Authoriser to recognise my ingintion key, so cannot download and try out any rack extensions - doh!

Anyway I have the Rack Extension upgrade, and the free Pulsar device that comes with it.
The Extension Rack Devices seem quite expensive, money better spent on S|C devices for my money, so I wouldnt loose much sleep on that one except if you had a specific rack device you particularly had a need for..
I haven't spent much time with that Pulsar, and that will be a while off since now Mattomat has arrived and seems to be a much more interesting device, as I'm sure you're discovering.
Re: Issues with Reason 6.5 and SCOPE 5.1 ASIO
Finally solved the issues with the Ignition Key by using Firefox (instead of IE).
The trick is to clear the Reason Cookies and use 'PHREM' (See the Reason FAQ's for details).
It then finds the IK's.
The ASIO issue has not righted itself so any help on that front from anyone with Win 7, Scope XITE 5.1 and Reason 6.5 (64 bit) would be appreciated.
My current work around is to load and save my work in Reason with a DirectX Duplex ASIO.
Once launched I can switch to Scope ASIO, I just need to remember to switch back when saving and closing (annoying).
The good news is rewire works with Cubase 6.5 64 bit.
Thats a first for me!

Re: Issues with Reason 6.5 and SCOPE 5.1 ASIO
UPDATE:
Fixed the asio issue by reloading SCOPE.
Must have been a driver issue of some sort.

Yep thats good news. 64 bit is on the move now with recent patches for Rewire, Wavelabs ASIO, Zarg synths etc.mausmuso wrote:The good news is rewire works with Cubase 6.5 64 bit. Thats a first for me!

Yep things are moving, but I still cannot use ASIO with Wavelab 7 in Win 7 64 bit.
I guess it will come.
I tend to use Samplitude nowadays anyway, so its no biggy.
