Ok yes , that's exactly what happened . got stuck w the v5 Sonic Core drivers and that's messed things up .. Then I went to do a system restore and lost XP SP2 and my graphics driver in the process ...aaargh ! yes it's a new build so that might be the way to go . One thing I don't get though Gary... the v4.5 Installation ( unzipped ) Setup will not run ... it was the first thing I tried to install ( and with ASPI 4.70 installed ) before I tried all this v5 and v4.0 stuff but nothing , Setup just won't run . What the ??! do you have that 4.5 zip somewhere ?

probably. pm me to remind me to dig it up. the actual program is 100% identical to v4. there were no bugfixes and the only new device was the SBC.

i actually uploaded it here:
https://www.filesanywhere.com/fs/v.aspx ... 6671baa867
i tested the installer(setup) before uploading it, so it definitely works. this link is good for 5 days.

a really stupid questiom...
you did unzip the folder first before trying to use it, right?

Yes I had unzipped it :) strange what happened .
Anyway I've since got everything working now from my Scope 4 disc and 45dsps are showing up in dsp usage ,
so back on track here .
I will go and get yr v4.5 ( I didn't know it 's same as v4 ) thnx for uploading that for me .

What is the difference between Scope v4 and S|C v5 ? ( I'll be staying 32bit for now )

Cheers , M

well, a lot, but it's still Scope as you would expect it to be.
new plugins, most plugins are now stock and a minor redesign of the gui are on the surface. under the hood, things have been redone. there might be a couple more bugs than in v4, but overall v5.1 feels more solid and the new plugins are excellent. i'm using it myself and i don't miss v4. if you move to windows 7, you'll need v5.1. if you stay in xp, it's a good upgrade with a new driver and software and you also support the company that is keeping Scope alive.

no problem on the upload... use it if you need it.

That's great I'll give him a call .

by the way ,,, I downloaded yr v4.5 thanks for that .
I had v4 happily installed and tried to bring in the DSP / Presets / Devices folders in from my old hard drive v4.5
but somewhere a path is lost and Scope runs but wants to close ,, clearly this is Not the way to do it :)
So I uninstalled my v4 and went to run yr v4.5 ... when I try to run Setup nothing happens ... again !
I don't get this ?? I installed v4.5 years ago no probs ??
