Scope V5.1 not loading into task bar at start up

Curious problem. I just installed the latest Scope software update V5.1 and I noticed that Scope no longer starts up along with the other start up programs when I boot up (or reboot). I have to click on the desktop icon in order to get it to load up (then the icon appears in the task bar area). I tried reinstalling from scratch and it still doesn't work. Aside from that the program works as expected. Any ideas?

Using Win XP Pro (32 bit).

Also don't see it in the msconfig start up sequence.

Post your cset.ini - the issue may be there.

This is a printout of the V5.1 cset.ini file. I did a little investigating on my own. I compared it to the V5.0 cset.ini file from the backup archive I made prior to installing 5.1 and the only thing I can see that is different or unique about this V5.1 ini file is a reference under the heading called [Runpep] DontRestart=0.

I see no such entry in the V5.0 ini file. I might remove that entry and see if it makes a difference.

Yep I was not sure the exact key in the cset.ini but from here:

to prevent Scope from auto-starting
edit the file cset.ini in the sfp\app\bin directory
change the entry DontRestart=0 (which means start automatically)
to DontRestart=1

You could also try putting Scope shortcut in the machines autostart folder. Something like :

"C:\Program Files\SCOPE PCI\App\bin\Scope.exe" -s

The '-s' makes it start minimized according to :

thanks dante - adding the -s did not solve the problem.

I uninstalled V5.1 and reinstalled V5.0 and it works correctly (without the -s in fact).

There is something wrong with the latest version 5.1 software in this regard. I will notify SonicCore and hopefully they can fix the problem in the next update. For now I will stay with V5.0. Or maybe I'll just ask for my money back.

it's a pretty simple fix. just drop a shortcut to Scope.exe into the windows startup folder.
