Hi guys, I'm searching for modular 1 patches ... I checked on the site of Ben (great site btw, great work  ) but all the links to the patches on Z are dead (old forum maybe) ... on the modular patches section on this forum I found only 4-5 patches (3 of them are awesome too ! ... monophonic astronaud, guitar synth and pulsarizer  ) ...

Does esists a site with plenty of patches to download ?

Thx a bunch !
Have fun !!

hi, your in the right place.

sort the mod patches forum by date and the first 50 or so posts/patches are all mod1.

an alfonso also recently posted 2 mod1 patches. they have (modular 1) in their name or something.

Thanks for the props.
Yes, the v1 patch page has many links to PlanetZ in its older days, and so the links won't work.
I'll think about uploading all the v1 patches that I have to Modular Corner and relinking the entries on the patch page.
Its a fair bit of work, but it would be nice to have a proper archive of all v1 patches somewhere, wouldn't it?

Let me think about it.

Yes, there are some great v1 patches out there - monophonic astronaut is really cool!

I'm not sure - I'll check tonight.
Disk space should not be a problem, it'll just be a drag linking each entry in the Patch list to its respective file, but I think its worth it in the long run as this will be the only complete archive of v1 patches.

The great v1 patch upload has begun.

You'll find most patches beginning A-O (28 patches) up on the v1 patches page on my site. I've started to alphabeticise the list as well, so you'll find these at the top of the page.

You may have to do a 'open in new window' and then refresh the page a couple of times to flush it from your cache, but I've switched caching off for this page, so it should load the latest version whenever you hit it from now on.

I'll put some more up during the day today and over the weekend - won't take too long to get the whole lot up there.

Basically, anything with a value of 'Here' in the download column is now uploaded to Modular Corner.

I've also started to fix the links to the original PlanetZ page where the patch originated on PlanetZ. This is in the right hand column, but I've only fixed the first few so far.

Enjoy!

Ben

PS Let me know if you find any broken links, etc, with the newly uploaded files. I think they're all there, but accidents do happen.

Hi Ben, yesterday I had a look at your site (very cool), and I wanted to download the colored modular I modules (already tried in the past from Planetz), but I didn't find anything in the zips. Is there still a copy of those modules that isn't actually corrupt somewhere?

Thanx
Fede

P.S.: I also found broken links when trying to download explanations for Waldorf oscillator

P.P.S.: I noticed on the page of Obsidian Modular that the "Obsidian Difference" has some kind of problem, but I didn't exactly understood what was about, it always seemed to me to work :???:

Hi guys,
I just downloaded a few of the files myself to check, and they were OK, but I can't actually log on to the server to check everything else out.

I'll get these problems sorted and let you know, and I'll answer Fede's q's too.

Get back to you l8r,
Ben

Update a short while later.

Hmmm, I can't even get to the site now. Must be dns troubles, or probs at the host server. I'll keep checking.
Ben

Well, I think everything is OK now, but I can't test it properly at home, because no matter how hard I try I can't get explorer to 'lose' the old cached version of the page.

I've deleted my cache, even renamed the file on the ftp server, but Explorer just keeps reloading the old version of the page.

I'll do more testing at work tomorrow.

FYI The old version of the page has the Guitar synth at the top, whereas the new version has the '110F tm monophonic' patch at the top.

Cheers,
Ben

Ok Ben, here's some tipz

First of all the cause of the corrupted zip files seems to be Getright ... I downloaded 5 times with getright and everytime I had corrupted zipfiles ... I downloaded once without getright and everything is fine ...

Second... a dead link ... the file SH-101.zip is missing ...

And all the other files hosted on the old forums of Z ...

Anyway thx !!!

Ben, to clear your cache, here's a quote from the Win2k/XP tweaks found here:

if you use your DAW for internet surfing, this will clear out the page file on shutdown:

In regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory Management

Select ClearPageFileAtShutdown
Change to 1 to enable.

Reboot.

I hope it helps.

I just tried downloading both sets of coloured modulars, and they both worked fine. The SpaceF ones contain 10 coloured modular shells, and the PlanetZ (John Cooper) ones contain 5.

Can you try it again, and let me know if it works for you now?
P.S.: I also found broken links when trying to download explanations for Waldorf oscillator
Hmm, the link takes me to the Waldorf FTP site, into a directory with 3 text files and 2 pdf files.

Depending on which operating system you're using, your browser should have some way of showing you the files in that directory, and allowing you to download them.

However, I'll ask Waldorf if I can host the files directly, which might make this easier.
P.P.S.: I noticed on the page of Obsidian Modular that the "Obsidian Difference" has some kind of problem, but I didn't exactly understood what was about, it always seemed to me to work :???:
When I was testing the module, it loaded without any ins or outs visible (and I have a screen shot to prove it!) Guy Eastwood (Obsidian) was able to recreate the problem as well.

If you have a copy of the module which does not have the problem, let me know and I'll post it here for all to use !

Thanks for the feedback, and carry on letting me know of any problems you have.

Cheers,
Ben

Cheers, I'll try that ! You'd have thought that deleting the files manually would do the trick

Problem with SH-101 is fixed.

I've now uploaded all the modules which I had in my Mod1 Synths directory - that's '110F tm monophonic' to 'WaldoBrowse'. I'll upload the rest (which I had in other directories, eg Mod1 Effects) in the next day or two. Should be plenty for you for now! You'll see a couple of empty rows in the table below which I have not uploaded any of the files!

Not sure what to do about the Getright problem. Works here with normal downloading and also with 'Download Accelerator', so I can't really suggest anything. Sorry.

Ben

Ben,

you can also 'Delete Temporary Internet files'. (Tools->Options->Delete Files in Temp. Internet Files section

Maybe the above tip is only for your Virtual Memory, dunno 'bout that...
