MIDI fader Jumps in Scope mixer when I use external control

not to forget those of the IO-plate.
There have been failures reported which could be fixed by removing and re-plugging the plate.
Be careful, it sticks really tight as it's a 2 side connection.
After years the metal of the contacts may develope contact corrosion by reaction of the different components that make up the 'metal'. The material isn't uniform. Replacing usually rubs the 'bad' part away.
Imho the closer you live to the sea (or any other 'aggressive' air environment), the more likely corrosion is.
Sidenote: they only use stainless steel anchcors for climbing protection in coastal areas today.
A traditional 10mm steel bolt is rotten within 3-5 years. It will LOOK ok, but the inner structure won't take any severe fall reliably.

Regarding contact surfaces we're talking about something anywhere between 1/100 to 1/10 of a millimeter...

I'll give it a go but I just feel that the guys that sold it knew it was faulty. I use to have my Keyboard attached to it and always thought Cubase was the problem with audio.

I bought the same board from Jimmy a while back and it flies to this day.

Ye I did that Tom and the plastic that seats the pins was slightly bent, so I think the problem is there slightly.

don't worry - that stuff can be bent pretty far and still work ok. There's a strong tension inside the connector.
In fact it's almost impossible not to bend the pins if you're unprepared to the sudden 'jump' the plate makes when coming off the board...
I think you checked almost every item possible without measuring gear.
If the unreliable operation remains (and you have another card), you could still use it without the plate for DSP power/ licenses.
In that case your system should stabilize - and you have a faulty IO-plate.
But if all was in vain, the reverse is more likely: the card is faulty and the plate is ok.
Last but not least there's (of course) a tiny chance that both parts are damaged.
