Need A Module/Device For Bank Change

Post by dawman »

I am having a problem with XITE-1 MIDI Destination out to hardware.

Unforteunately I just recieved my SE-1 w/ the Sine Wave/Distortion upgrade and new ROM Banks which unfortunately put the user Bank on Bank 8.
Now when I use my hardware controller buttons for preset changes, it defaults to ROM Bank 1.
I cannot re work my buttons as I used the same buttons for all synths, effects and mixer scenes. I simply switch the number of the globala MIDI channel, and whatever number I have is where the Prgm Chng messages are sent.

Is there a Scope MIDI module, remapper or device that can be put PRE XITE-1 MIDI Destination module that can convert from ROM Bank 1, to RAM Bank 8......?
In all my years I never used presets much.
Have always used them for routings, and Sync'ing Osc's, etc. Then only need 16 presets as I tweak parameters live for motion and control.
THis is most frustrating.

Since it needs to be a Scope solution, this is why I posted it here.

Would Wolf's MidiTransformer not do the trick? I assume the ROM bank is selected by bank change rather than program change messages?

Bank change is a non-standard CC, so you need to find it from the manual. How about leaving the SE-1 on bank 8 and then filtering out the offending CC so that it just receives program changes?

I got it sorted out. Needed an ancient forgotten j9k device. Can't believe
it works in XITE-1. Some of his stuff was 3.1 or some older version.
It works great and covers the hexadecimal numbers I see on the SE-1s'
display once I pass preset #99 in any given Bank ROM/RAM.

Thanks to tgstgs from DAS|GOST, SpaceF, at0m and j9k, I have an
incredible Scope project for live work.
There is no hardware, or Native way to do this.
I have tried Bidule, Forte and even that peice of crap called Chainer.
Even the chap at MIDI Solution knew what I wanted but explained how
SysEx and a footswitch could achieve this...............screw that. I am
downsizing, not getter larger.

Scope DSP is THE Live performers tool, nothing else compares.

So you're saying you can do everything using a combination of these devices :

1) CCMuteX from tgstgs / DAS|GOST,
2) CC2x2 and Splitter 2 from SpaceF
3) at0m ??
4) j9k ??

What are the bits atom and j9K do ?

gotta note this for posterity

atom designed all of the Modular patches which are the M3 Leslie and the 3 x Modular automation patches that control DSP, Kontakt and hardware synth parameters.
j9k has a conversion device, modular modules, and the MIDI Router I attach to RoyT's large LCD MIDI Monitor.
I have it configured so that 6 x MIDI Inputs from various points are able to be monitored by using 6 different hardware buttons on my controller. Each of the 4 MIDI Filter Outs go there, and 2 other critical points in the path are also added.
The Monitor is large enough to be seen from 10 feet away instead of reading the usual munchkin text sized stuff that's stock with Scope.
I'll be sending these to Ben from Modular Corner this weekend for adding to his collection of patches.

k thanks - still a bit hard to follow whats happening - eg I can see a device labelled just 'j9k' connected after one of the splitters, but no idea what it does. Ill wait to see what gets posted on mod corner.
