STM 2448 Mixer

Post by fraz »

Hi there,

I've followed the advice of garyb and ditched the big mixer (not that I had much choice.... ....it wouldn't load into SFP 5!)

I've hooked up the STM 2448 and as far as I know my SFP project is OK......tho I do have some query on the VU metering.....and as I'm no expert please take it ez....... :P

The sound of a VSTi is playing thru my speakers (currently MSP5) and I can see the main mix light up both left and right nice n evenly...

Asio source is in 1+2 on the mixer which is panned hard left on 1 and hard right on 2....... In the VU meters on each channel of the mixer there are two vertical columns and on channels 1 and 2 the left hand side lights up as the VSTi is played but the right hand of the VU above the channel fader does not ..... my confusion here - Is this correct and meant to be like this?????

For you experts this should be a doddle... :D Thanks in advance.........

Well, you can tell the STM channel to be stereo, then you dont have to bother double panning to two mono's.

Other than that you can check that the VST is hooked up correctly in host app to output stereo to the 2 channels, and that it's panned center.

Wow, 2011 and people are still using Big Mixer? You'll find STM a whole lot better.

They didn't call it the 'bug' mixer for nothing.

The STM's are much better.

Yes I would agree with you - In fact, I used the big mixer whilst I was learning the SFP platform - I'm still learning.... .........the STM looks amazing btw......

I first used the big mixer is 2.04a with the pulsar 2 and powersampler - the pulsar 2 is connected with the Scope Pro board I got from Thomann - I wish that I'd just got the Pro board from the off-
