Greetings Experts
My trusty old Scope system running on a G4 under OS 9.2.1/2 has partially uninstalled itself or something- SCOPE will only boot part way, the devices are visible in the routing window, but no mixer, and the menus are ones I have never seen before, there is nothing to load.
I have Scope installed on 3 system hard drives in this computer, SCOPE behaves the same way when trying to launch from any of them, CDs the CD drives are long since broken, thus I cannot do anything from the Scope CD.
My goal is to get the system working again.
Thank you in advance for reading this and I appreciate any and all input.
Ed

Re: SCOPE Mac OS9 problem

Re: SCOPE Mac OS9 problem
i haven't done an os9 install. you should be able to use the installer from the download off the S|C ftp. astro or one of the other mac guys here should be able to give better tips than me.
Re: SCOPE Mac OS9 incomplete SCOPE launch
bump - Scope actually seems to be loaded except the available menus in the Routing Window are:
CDAccess
Hardware IOs
PepBase
Software IOs
*all sources and destinations are present in routing window
*no mixer is present in routing window
i can "open recent project" in the FILE menu, and that brings up the "Find STM 1632.dev" window, andthen Scope is crashed.
Scope boots this way even with 2 separate installs and 2 seprate systems on 2 separate hard disks within this 1 G4.
strange eh?
Thanks very much! I appreciate all ideas

Re: SCOPE Mac OS9 problem
no, it's a common error caused by a corrupt cset.ini, i believe.
have you rerun the installer? it shouldn't be that hard, you can even edit the cest.ini(scope\app\bin) if you are careful. isn't there a working installer? how did you install it in the first place? just do that again.

Re: SCOPE Mac OS9 problem
Yeah, I remember in the past getting this problem. I used to keep a back-up of the cset.ini and every few weeks just copy it over the current one - I seem to remember over time it would become corrupted.

thanks Everyone, This is the first time this has happrened to me in 9 years of owning this card so i guess i am fortunate. i will look for cset.ini, and thanks very much and film at 11....
