I forgot where I saw this, but there was an app that allows you to select a particular sound in a polyphonic or complex mix and manipulate it. Sounds sort of like melodyne, but it was something else.. I also recall seeing in a video, that you select sounds by tracing (like drawing) over the fundamental, in a spectral view.
man, I'm trying to remember where I saw it, but just can't recall.. I hope I didn't just dream it up, lol.
