Has anyone been able to get the "Scope Fusion Platform BG" app to run their background.pro ?
I'm assuming it's the same deal as the "PulsarBG" that most people will have in their "StartUp Items" folder ?
I get an "error 12" - unimplemented Core Routine Error every time I try to run it.
The actual main program runs fine.
I emailed Creamw@re and got this charmingly useless response -
"Hi,
I haev not heard of error 12 yet .
Could it be because you rename it.
I would suggest reinstallation here and let be under creamware want it."

WTF!!!!!

I tried running the old "PulsarBG" application and it still works fine, but not if I try to run the new SFP application. Anyone have any ideas?

While I'm at it, has anyone noticed that the Auto Routing doesn't work correctly if you have a Midi Merger joining your sequencer and midi source in your project?
I'm going back to Pulsar Software...for the meantime.

All Your Base are Belong to Us!

Dontcha just love Genlish?

Sorry, haven't had that problem....but then I don't normally use the BG app. (even though the Pulsar card loves to screw with OMS functionality)

Are you running the latest (OS 9.2.2) OS?
Upgrading from 9.0.4 cured a lot of my ills.

Cheers

Yup... I've been running 9.2.2 since I got this Mac... and on my previous Mac too.. worked out early in the story that that was the way to go.

I have the "Useless Explaination" for the Error Code ....
Unimplemented Core Routine Error
Perhaps SFP for the Mac shipped with this feature not working?

I think thats one problem that belongs on the SFP bug list thread in general pulsar discussion! Especially as cw don't seem to know about the problem.

I found some explanation for the 12 error in a great Mac utility - Black and Blue and there is a long list of possible reasons there.

The main info is: 'This error indicates that the application requested a system command that doesn't exist.'

It can occur when a specific extension doesn't exist in your system. I will try to reproduce the bug in 9.1.

If you want the full explanation just e-mail me.

Sounds like a bug in the installer, perhaps not putting stuff where its supposed to be?

Hey samplaire,
I used Black & Bleu also and it talks mainly about calls to the Mac's System ROM (Toolbox) - I'm no programmer, but to me it sounds like it's Creamware's programmers that need to address this... I don't see at this point that it is related to an extension or lib file (??) unless they patch the ROM.... Hmmm... back to 3.0.1 I go

Once, I found (somewhere in Pulsar2 folder) a file that was something like ERTYUI~2.xyz. It looked like it was not corectly translated from PC version (too long name). Perhaps now we have a similar situation? Perhaps there is a file in the SFP folder needed by BG project app and it can't be found due to too short name? Who knows? If this is or other - probably we have a bug. But we can live without it, don't we?

MacOS 9.1 doesn't say anything after doubleclicking the BG project file. No error, no flower, nothing... No even 'hello'

I can't live without it, I like my Pulsar card to be initialized when I boot my Mac... then I can just work away and not be bothered with manually loading different setups - until I have/want to.

Your theory on the long file name sounds like a good one - I just hope someone from Creamware is listening.

Yeah, I was begining to think that the "Startup" option in the file menu has replaced the background app... I hope not tho... and they still include the "Scope Fusion Platform BG" in the same dir as the main app...
It was a convenient way for me to work, hate to lose it

Hmm.. if I double click on the startproject.pro or newproject.pro ...guess what?.. it tries to load the Scope Fusion Platform BG application... which of course, crashes.... damn!!!
Both Scope Fusion Platform and Scope Fusion Platform BG have the same type and creator codes - (obviously) -but it looks like the latter is determined to be the newer application by the OS...
