Is anyone still using TripleDAT? I have recently resuscitated my vintage 1998 version of TDAT 3.06. I could use some help getting it to function on my old windows 98 computer. Any other nostalgic dinosaurs out there?

Thank you for offering to help. I have installed the tripleboard and was not able to get 3.06 to see it. I reinstalled version 2.4 to get the tripleboard to connect to the software and now 3.06 gives me an error,

"Triplego Function Load Error please install the last driver"

I do not see where the drivers are loaded. If I use the install hardware feature of Win98 I am unable to direct the wizard to the correct location of the drivers. I donwloaded the upgrade to 3.06 as .zip files and saved them in a common folder. I have the old floppy disks for the version 2.4. I had the system running several years ago using 3.06 and Win98 so I know it is not a damaged board.

It was several attempts to get the tripleboard to be "found" by the software. I have figured out that I must use IRQ15. My plan was to run the hardware/software in 2.4 to work out the bugs then upgrade to 3.06.

Although the tripleboard is installed,it is jumpered to IRQ 10. I know that I will need to reinstall the board after resetting the jumpers as it does not work. I attempted a recording in 2.4 and got many errors. Any suggestions for:

Installing the trupleboard in 2.4
Upgrading the driver for 3.06

I have no experiences with the Triple Board, but I could offer a complete TDAT system (the 16 channel Adat version) which I might trade for something if you want to continue with Triple.
In case you lack a converter I could throw in an Adat LX20 with unknown drive conditions... well, probably not oversea ;) :D
Recorded a demo tape, but no info about head hours (machine was reset on service).
I also have a TripleDat LE license (Triple under XP) for a Pulsar/Luna/Scope board that I'll probably never use.

cheers, Tom

First you have to know witch IRQ's are used in your win98 pc by other controlers. Than you have to set the rigth resources on your triple board the IRQ an IO Port. For a save running system, it has to be an uniqe unshared IRQ.

I recommend you to deinstall TDAT 2.4 and all old drivers and than a new install with 3.06 only.
Which hardware revision is your tripleboard - > 1.4???

Ingo

PS Former I had a same problem that the board was not found, because an old triple driver was sill activ.

Thanks for the advice. My board is version 4.01 serial number 62147597 (1993-97). I am able to use the board with V2.4, it records but has some problems. I was thinking to optimize the set-up using 2.4 since my manual is for 2.4 and I have the disks.

I identified IRQ15 as open and set the jumpers on the board to 15. When I run the test program it does not see the board, it thinks it is on IRQ 10. The board does not show up in the device manager, but the software works??? It crashes whenever I save an arrangement, but it does work.

I would like to try to clean everything out and reinstall. The problem I have when installing 3.06 is that the driver is not found. Do you know the file name of the 3.06 driver and where it may be hiding in the download files? Can you send me the 3.06 driver file? Do you have any documentation on 3.06? Was it that last version? Is there a more stable version beyond 3.06?

The only way I get the system to work is to use 2.4

This should not happen.... I think there is a hardware error. If you jump it to IRQ 15 then the program will find it.
So I think the jumper connection wont work...

An other oportunity try an other ISA connector on your motherboard, sometimes IRQ's depend of it.

PS The new driver is inside the setupfile, it is not a single file.

Is your IRQ problem solved yet?

Read the tripleDAT manual, it is very well explained.

IRQ 15 is generally used for IDE controller, hence rarely available.

I would set the jumpers on the tripleDAT board in the factory default position, i.e. IO address 300 hex and IRQ 11.
Find an ISA slot on your MB that doesn't share IRQ with other devices.
in BIOS, reserve IRQ 11 for the chosen ISA slot.
In Windows device manager, reserve IRQ 11 and IO addresses 300 - 30f hex (if you chose the default jumper settings).
Manually install the 3.06 device driver (file names: triple.inf, VTRPL2D.vxd, Triplego.drv).
In the device driver dialog, select the proper IRQ and IO address.
Next fill in the tripeDAT software keys that came with the card/software, and finally press TEST to see if correct.

Thanks for the advice, I can get the board to work even though the IRQ locations don't match. I will try your suggestion. The Manual that I have must be an earlier version. It does not give the same advice that you have or the specific directions to resolve the problem.
