Greetings; XTC looked like it was going fine for me when i installed it, but now i've run into a weird problem; Minimax, Prophet 5 and a couple other synths are not recognizing note information from my midi keyboard, so that every note i play comes out at the same pitch (approx G-4). Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Other S-C synths, notably Prism and Lightwave v5, don't exhibit this problem. Of course, the P5 and Minimax are the XTC synths i most frequently want to use. The problem happens both in Reaper and SX3, and it's not consistent; sometimes it is there, and sometimes not. Sometimes, when it is there, it will stop after a number of patch changes, and then these synths will recognize note info as expected.
Any ideas?
BTW I'm running a Pulsar II in XTC mode on Scope v5 (latest RC), on a Q8300-Asus P5KC desktop w/ 4 Gigs DDR3. There is also a couple UAD cards and a Duende on this computer; i use SX3 and Reaper on both Windows 7 and Win XP x86 configurations.
Regards
Glenn

Re: Weird XTC Problem -- Notes Not Recognized
Wasnt aware of note pitch being dropped, but other denser automation/controller data I tested here with some issues :
http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=29468
on automation data being sent to Scope PCI synths (Poison and Prisma ) in XTC mode where data was lost, and this seemed to be fixed using CC instead.
In non XTC mode, I found Profit 5 note-off's being dropped ( resulting in hung notes ) until I used the Cubase5 'thin' to thin out some controller data being sent to it.

yes, reads familiar... and if you examine the respective synth patch when the 'problem' occurs, you'll find it will be set to portamento. Resetting the synth to zero voices and up again will cure it ... at least in most cases iirc.
It's not related to XTC or any version of Scope, had it since version 3 from time to time.
Funny thing is I never got behind the mechanism - I guess it's a side effect from something else...
cheers, Tom
