Having a loft clearance and came across this piece of kit. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what it's worth as I'm thinking of putting it on ebay. Unfortunately the PSU is missing. Can anyone point me in the right direction for replacing it?
Thanks for reading.

Re: A16 Pre Ultra (Not ultra)
Hi Nitty,
Good timing there on the old A16. Basically, there was one on eBay very recently I was interested in...
http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0657897818
...but I didn't make a bid in time and he withdrew it before the end of the auction.
My guess is they aren't worth very much to anyone these days, but I would be interested - and more to the point - I don't need a power supply either!
Talk to me.
Sonovox.

Re: A16 Pre Ultra (Not ultra)
this is only part of the story
it's certainly not much worth for the 'uninvited', but the item definitely has it's lovers.
If it's clean regarding background noise (occasional brizzles and spikes on individual channels) I'd take one anytime for 200 bucks.
The PSU of the old IBM Thinkpads is a perfect replacement, there are tons of those (PSUs) on eBay.
It MUST be the original IBM version, 'compatible ones' WILL fry the unit... don't ask me why, but I've tried it myself.

that auction is for a dozen
cheers, Tom

Re: A16 (Sold)
Cheers for that Astroman! Unit is now sold.
Re: A16 (Sold)
great
I was slightly worried the price above might look like an offer - I have one myself (running on that IBM thing)
For a jazz or rock session recording I'd prefer it over a lot of stuff, Wayne proves it time and again that the old A16 does amazing live recordings.
cheers, Tom
