Z-link firewire cable, 6 pin or 9 pin?

Post by Neutron »

Anyone know anything about the firewire cables used in z-link?

I just want to buy some 1 ft firewire cables to run between xite and a16u, because i want to tidy up my rack a bit, does zlink rquire 6 pin or 9 pin cables? (i did not even know there were 2 kinds, its the only firewire thing i have)

I "think" 6 pin is ok as power isnt needed for the a16.But its maybe best to ask sc direct before frying something.

I just looked at the cables i am using now, and they appear to only have 6 pins in them.
and looking further it also looks like the 9 pin ones have a different connector.

The point is moot now, because i decided rather than have an analog snake from XITE/a16, to my analog stuff i will just move the a16 there and use the long firewire cables I already have..duh :)
