ASIO Scope drivers and Sibelius.

Post by sonicstrav »

The Scope ASIO driver in versions 4.5 & 5 does not work with Sibelius 5.25. I think I read somewhere it doesn't work with Sibelius 6 as well. Can anyone confirm this (I don't have version 6). I'm stuck to using the ASIO4ALL driver in parallel with the Scope ASIO driver.

What about Finale - does that work with the Scope ASIO driver? To be honest, I probably won't consider changing notation package just for an ASIO driver - the mock ups are done better by exporting the MIDI parts from Sibelius into Sonar anyway.

Presumably, it is Sibelius's problem...not Sonic core's

Does anyone have further information / experience on this?

Cant test myself as dont have Sibelius or Finale. But heres a related Sibelius thread :

http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcen ... 3&&guest=1

One workaround here quoted :
Søren Jepsen wrote: I've had a bit more time to test it now. I can get ASIO working (most of the time), IF I start Sibelius with the asio4all driver, end then switch to SCOPE. Then before closing Sibelius I switch back. If I don't switch back, Sibelius hangs on startup as described (and mentioned in the leaflet from the Sibelius box).
I'll keep an eye on this if you fix it I'm gonna start tracking these types of things for future ScopeRise inclusion.

Thanks for that. Great link - I'll try that out.
I think it more a problem with Sibelius than Scope, though
Cheers :D :D :D :D

If the workaround above works, then suggests Sibelius/Scope issue is at Sibelius start-up only, not if you change once Sib already open. Let us know how it goes.

Hmmmm....it doesn't work :-? Oh, well - I'll just keep using ASIO4ALL now
BTW - Notion 3 works fine!

Were ALL of the different ASIO drivers tried (ASIO1/2 16/24/32bit) with and without the somewhat recent cubase patch?
