I know its an old piece, but i just got it from a friend who doesn't use it anymore,
needless to say he doesn't have the installation disk anymore, i figured its not a problem since i can download scope V4 and i do have the rgy file and all that i need from him.
the problem is, when i start the setup (i tested with scope 4 \ 4.5 \ etc) when i get to the point of "install drivers" it says an error occurred and i need to install the drivers manually.
i am SURE my friend used this card on XP before, but probably not on XP 64-bit like i use now.
(and the driver folders says 9x 2kx ???)
anyways, when i try to install it manually and choose the driver's sub folders, it finds nothing there to install.
is it because i have 64-bit? please tell me there is a driver for 64bit... i already downgraded from win7 JUST because i couldn't find drivers for win7 for such a card,
I'd be really annoyed if i had to remove 64bit (which i need) and install regular XP)
I did run a search, many of the posts i found were very old and could be not relevant, links that were provided are no longer active etc etc,
so if there is any new information you can give me ill be delighted.
Thanks & regards
SH

Re: Luna, Scope V4 on winXP 64-bit
64-bit drivers are not available yet - as mentioned in other threads here.
However, I think you'll also probably need Scope 5 for 64-bit environment.
Does XP64 allow you to install as 32-bit app? That's what I did in W7.

Greg
And yes XP64 allows 32-bit apps, i have several installed,
but it still doesn't work with these drivers.
if my friend at that time purchased the Luna card and had it licensed with scope V4, does that mean i have to purchase and pay for a scope 5 (when the 64bit support is made?)
looks like ill be going XP 32 bit... its a shame, i thought the Luna card was out there for a long time (i don't really know that well), you'd figure they release something to support XP 64bit by now...
i mean... its XP, come on.
again thank you for your quick reply

Re: Luna, Scope V4 on winXP 64-bit
I think chances are that only Scope V5.1 (pending release) will have the 64-bit drivers, but I'm not sure.SwiftHands wrote:Thank you for the quick reply, siriusbliss wrote:64-bit drivers are not available yet - as mentioned in other threads here.

Since you now have the board and keys, then you'll probably have to purchase Scope 5 - which gives you a lot of new devices and synths for the price by the way.
Read here on how to do Scope OS upgrade:

Again, there's been a lot of discussions on this forum hither and yon re: 64-bit politics, but SC is a small company, and 64-bit is coming.

Re: Luna, Scope V4 on winXP 64-bit
people say that they've had plenty of time, but people forget. S|C is NOT Creamware. it is Creamware that dropped the ball with Scope developement. S|C is completing that developement ASAP.
Re: Luna, Scope V4 on winXP 64-bit
one cannot use the new Scope 5 devices with a single Luna anyway, so why bother ?
(it needs at least one more DSP card for the juice required)
that said a Luna under regular XP performs MUCH better than a RME 9652, the version without DSP to be precise... that thingy s*cks.
To be honest I didn't expect it would s*ck that big...
Watch out on the RME boards where the company is present: their only comment is sorry, not supported anymore, buy a HDSP or stay with what you have. Period. Not even a glimpse of a discussion...
cheers, Tom

I think the Luna will handle the mixers just fine. My circa '99 Pulsar I does.astroman wrote:one cannot use the new Scope 5 devices with a single Luna anyway, so why bother ?

Re: Luna, Scope V4 on winXP 64-bit
sorry Greg, I may not be up to date with mixers... which I wouldn't consider 'new' devices anyway, even if they 'looked' new.
I mainly thought of the new reverbs...
the ambient one should give your single Pulsar One something to chew on, probably
with that running you'd hardly get relevant amounts of data over Asio...
at least that's what I remember from my own oldie (but goldie)
cheers, Tom

Not sure if this is relevant, but some issues unearthed regards Scope 4 installer under XP (including some notes from valis regards a 64 bit / DEP issue).
