Scope only dies when its owner loses his/hers creativity.
..or when something goes wrong with the circuit board. That's my only fear if S/C stop 'supporting' Scope PCI. But even then I'd imagine many problems such as cracked dry solder joints or blown capacitors could be fixed locally by someone with non specialised digital circuit skills. I've had my Digitech, Yamaha and DOD stuff fixed ok like that.

As for owning an XITE to play music to degenerate gamblers that might be like having a Ferrari to go supermarket shopping. Couldn't you buy some egg cartons and charge an hourly rate for garage session / production ?

  :D

Jim could be lugging around $6K Korgs just to play weddings.
I used to play in a band with a guy that did high-end weddings on weekends.
It's all in the perspective I guess.

For sure. I've spent like $50k on my gear in the last decade and I don't even have a gig :). Just seems weird we're now carrying around more power in 1RU than top studios had in total a few years back and we're worried about obsolescence and 64 bit updates... :)

My dream would be a Single 4u rack unit that had A16 I/O, XITE power and an Intel/Win7 PC......With technology so advanced we still have to buy 3 boxes and connect them together with lightpipe and PCIe bus. Maybe we need an iXitePad.

Or getting motivated to go out and GET good paying gigs that have essentially paid for my Xite a few times over this past year.
From here on out it's all positive cash-flow.

The rest I just try to write-off on taxes

You won't believe what I used for a Blues Bar gig last weekend.......
I have a little cloth grocery bag for my 2 x 1U powerhouses and the little mini 8.4" LCD QWERTY, that's it.
My old friends heard I retired for the summer so they called me up for a gig and naturually there's free drugs, booze and food....no greens. So I figured they could provide a controller and 2 x powered cabinets then.
I showed up to find a 47 note cheeseboard with the built in speakers and a pair of unmatched stereo cabinets................
To make matters worse I had a TV tray stand for the massive 47 note Yamaha.
But in our biz when you walk in pissing and moaning it doesnt change a thing. Instead of crying I just pluugged in and matched the levels of the 2 broke Peavey amps as best I could and then called up my blues template.
I didn't know the bassist but I worked with the drummer/singer and Guitarist years ago in Sands showroom, so they knew how to jam.
The bassist was just waiting for me to play a sound so he could hear the rig because he was talking about the massive rig his x keyboard player had, etc. I figured I bushwhack him, so I IEM'd everything until they called a tune.
One Way Out by the Allman brothers. Didn't even ask what key I just look at the Guitar or Bass and see if its 3rd, 5th 7th fret or open stinged E.
But any any rate I threw in the Tower of Power Horns and B3 on this little piece of shit and it sounded so good he called his X keyman. The guy came down and took his beating like a man...... :D Instead of being a typical Puto musician trying to find something wrong to whine about he was cool, and said give me the website. And that was before he heard Prowave and Modular. I expect to see him here sometime soon.
So there will be another jerk from Vegas raving about the live XITE-1.....
But imagine someone walking in and seeing me sitting down like some deadbeat behind a TV tray w/ a minature keyboard...........
The sounds coming from the dual tubed Peavey amps was pretty nice. I had people that would just stand there and ask what kind of keyboard I had. I told them the new PSR47 from Yamaha at Guitar Center,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.........every kid should have his dad get him one...

I should have took a pic of the rig but instead I was taking pics of the waittail cocktress playing pool. Serious Babe-age ( BAY-BIJ phoenetically speaking ).

..and that from just using the XITE in its 'hey now Im just a sound module' mode...

Mind you if XITE catches on in a big way it might loose a bit of it's 'secret weapon' status, but those with a coupla years head start will probably still blow the newbies away for a while at least...enjoy while it lasts.

I found the perfect cheap piece of shit controllers to use.
I like theses Chinese junkwagons actually because I ain't one of these guys that actually thinks the heavy action is worth using, after all its a fake keyboard playing fake sounds, how is a heavier action going to change that...?
Ny Virtual Pianos sound exactly the same on crap keyboards, or " pro " keyboards. If I want real action I'll play a Piano.
These little toys can easily be replaced if you drop one. They cost nothing.
The little laptop keyboard is only 69 USD list......
I actually want to have a rig I can take to work on a bicycle.

We used 3 of the little Korg Nano's to control stage lighting and laser cues using a myriad of software, and they work great.
Little plastic pos's do a lot of things for cheap.

Hey this thing has some great drum kits and chick-a-boom buttons.
The heavy duty power supply is extra, as well as the TV Tray and music stand.
The bar owner wants me back and said he pay 50 bucks.......
What's even funnier is I need the money.

Does it let you push the rumba AND reggae buttons at the same time?
I used to love that about the early Roland drum boxes.

I know this seems like a joke, but there's a backpack version of this, and I already have a solution for the stand. Casinos always have dozens of these laying around.

I am hoping that Obama's appointment for the Supreme Court gets turned down. Elena Kagan is one of the finest Sound Cops around.

I saw Eddie Jobson play the shit out of one these Vax's at the booth right next to John Bowen/Solaris back at NAMM.
