I have purchased the new Mod Mixer and its unbelievable, although I am experiencing some teething issues.
- I note that the STEM 1627 output gains are frozen (You can't move the knobs!). The 247 is fine.
- Another little thing I noted is that I cannot use modulation of channels without first selecting a Filter (LP, HP, BP) in the filter section of a channel (in the 8S8H Channels module). I fed a LFO into the 'A' input to modulate channels. Works fine after you add a filter in the filter section of the channel?? Is this how it should work??
- I am also having some issues finding the best DSP assignments although I image they will optimised eventuallu\y with more time (I have an XITE-1).
- My computer did crash once when I was selecting a preset for a DAS D-Verb that had just been loaded into a STEM insert. I rebooted and next time it loaded without issue so I am not sure what that was all about.
All in all this is a great mixer that sounds good and offers huge flexibility
Many thanks to Mehdi

Re: Spacef Modular Mixer
mm, i thought i corrected that bug, I will look into that... I have the correct version so it shouldn't be very long (i'll verify it again). this evening latest (I am testing a new CC map thing right now, can take a couple of hours or so).mausmuso wrote:I have purchased the new Mod Mixer and its unbelievable, although I am experiencing some teething issues.

Yes, unless I misunderstand the case.mausmuso wrote: - Another little thing I noted is that I cannot use modulation of channels without first selecting a Filter (LP, HP, BP) in the filter section of a channel (in the 8S8H Channels module). The MFP channel module is the only one that can modulate fBlackBox or Zarg filters placed in inserts for the moment.
In the regular channels, a filter that is off also puts modulation off. (I mean, modulating the LP/HP/BP filter of a channel, requires that a filter is selected on that channel, and this activates both the filter and the modulation of that channel). If you don't activate a filter on a specific channel, then you shouldn't need to modulate it, and so modulation is also off.
The reason why there is no modulation of Inserts on the big mono modules is simply to save DSP... Without Xite, it is difficult for me to determine what are the limits in each device.
However, i can say right now that there is another method that will allow modulation in all modules, including stereo modules... but it requires a BlackBox III type of filters....
For the best DSP assignment, unfortunately, I cannot help much.... Jimmy V is the guy to talk to as he has hands-on experience with xite dsp assignments, with or without the modular mixer.mausmuso wrote: - I am also having some issues finding the best DSP assignments although I image they will optimised eventuallu\y with more time (I have an XITE-1).

But this really sounds like an issue with the plugin, not with the mixer. It happens that some effects don't like to be inside inserts (Optimaster for example, i use it in inserts but i know i expose myself to random crash). Generally speaking, it is plugs that use PC Ram that are sensitive to being inside inserts, or a lot of delays which is the case in reverbs.
So to avoid this, this kind of effects should be used as external effects, in the project window rather than in an insert of any module. This allows to assign this particular plugin to another dsp than the MB7 or channel modules. They become more stable that way (this is true on Scope-pci too).
I am running 4 masterverb pro in MB7 insert slots myself... all is fine so far.... (scope pci)

Re: Spacef Modular Mixer
here you go.
You'll find an "Updated Modules" folder in the Modular Mixer downloads, in the user area
- 167: fixes the non-selectable sends... also, the Bus DSP surface was still showing "247" instead of "167" which i corrected now.
- 8S8H: I haven't found anything wrong about channels and filter modulation. But a couple of "resonance" pads were not compatible with the CC Num and future CC maps (so i removed CC num on all resonance, and i will remove CC Num on all resonance of all modules later on, to avoid this kind of stuff in the future)...
I tested several channels with filters, modulation or no filters and I didn't have a problem, all work as it should.
Have fun now
Mehdi

Re: Spacef Modular Mixer
Thank you Mehdi,
167 all works now.
I can now build the 16 channel mixer I was setting out to do as my default setup

Re: Spacef Modular Mixer
Hi There,
Another little glitch has come to light.
Some weird things are happening with the two inserts on the Main Out of the MB7.
- They are both looking at different folder levels of the 'Devices' directory.
- When you try to load a plugin in the bottom slot nothing happens
- when you load a plugin in the top slot it shows the plugin in both slots and you get no sound.
