yes i know that there is a world wide economical chrisis, but this silence is not good for grow the S|C business.
it's a shame because S|C products are the best in music market for creative musicians.

no, they don't have anyone to take care of those things. fortunately, they spend their time and money on Scope, sarcastic critics aside. there is no Creamware, Sonic|Core is a completely different company, there are only techs and coders in it. there is no time or money to blow smoke up people's asses and make them feel warm and fuzzy. if you have a problem, customer care is pretty good.

for the last eight months or so, it's been a struggle just to make enough XITEs to fill demand and keep the company afloat. recently, they finally got a little bit ahead of the game, and now there are plenty of XITEs built to fill all the orders. little by little they are getting a handle on things, and yes, 64bit is very close to finished, although it can't be finished fast enough for the children who want to play with it.

yes, good PR is a must these days. unfortunately, it's unbelievably expensive, which is why there are fewer and fewer companies making all the stuff, which mostly becomes generic...

Here is what I don't understand: Virtually every person who has an interest in Scope based products visits Planet Z. It has been around forever, and it is a major information source for Scope users and prospective users, and thus is an invaluable marketing resource for Sonic Core. Yet they largely ignore it. I understand being overwhelmed by the workload, I understand software development that runs way past the due date. What I don't understand is why someone at SC doesn't take an hour or two once a week to post an update on Planet Z. It's a marketing resource even large companies would love to have, it's free to them, and any word from SC is treasured by the forum readers. So, given their understandable lack of marketing budget, why do they ignore such a resource? It just doesn't make sense.

well... it makes a lot of sense John, in particular from a commercial point of view
This board is nice to talk about this and that, music, make some trans-continental virtual friendship and all that stuff, but it's a pita regarding sales.
To be honest, in that context it's filled up with morons...
If they'd spend only 10% of their bla bla equivalent on purchases THEN your assumption might be true... but they didn't and never will.
From 3k registered users possibly 200 are (kind of) regular buyers, the rest is either chatting or dealing on ebay.

One can completely ignore a dozen flaming messages about something missing... something not ready... too expensive etc. It's just not relevant.
NOBODY (except a few snobs) spends 3 grand just for fun and fiddling around a little bit with digital audio.
Things like XITE are tools in some professional application, whatever that may be.
Consider the tax 'advantage' and the box costs you less than 2k Euro effectively.
The question in all these cases is: will it do the job ? what are it's advantages ?
In the days of Creamware there was a profitable (probably) business in broadcast, which was almost completely unknown here - just as the audio measurement system someone recently 'discovered' on SC's site...

If I had to mix and record live-gigs, I'd probably use an XITE, but wouldn't be much interested in talking about what what a phantastic system this is.
It does it's job - fine - and that's where the money is

As I was curious how long these devices already existed, I stumbled across the respective post where 135 customers are mentioned. Go figure yourself...
And since I'm ranting anyway... the most successful devices in SC's store are the most photorealistic ones ---snip---

I would agree, but Z is not maintained by SC, so it's a slightly different situation I guess.

But it would be nice if they could at least simply hire someone to update websites and post here occasionally now that Xites are shipping.

It does make sense and you will understand when you realize that you opinion is based around false assumption. Go read my earlier response and you'll see that i am the last one to defend SC but..

Do you realize that PlanetZ and every other forum is just small part (really small) of market. If any at all. You think wrong when you think that anyone using Scope visit PlanetZ. Really. I know a few local Scope users who does not know how to use internet. And i know few which did not know for PlanetZ until i told them. Simply they are musicians. They know for Scope from someone else etc. There is a VERY LARGE part of people (world) which simply make music and does not care for website updates, forum updates and so on. Really it does not work like that for company. People will eventually hear for Scope this way or another.

Sure some updates or general public communication could be nice but thinking that product is successful because of frequent website update or forum update is wrong believe me. I'll repeat i completely agree with you and better marketing is important for them but this is really just a small picture of bigger world.

If you by "the most photorealistic ones" mean minimax and the pro-12, well, there are other reasons than looks that might trigger the buy. they DO have other qualities than their looks. To imply people buy these plugs just for the looks is a bit silly you must admit.

And the rant for 135 buyers of the plate... well, there might be other reasons than people being tight on their money; the "photorealistic" synths cost what, 3 times more than the mentioned plugs? and are still the "most successful"?

I have no problem seeing how people prioritize a VST verb that taxes the CPU rather than a plug that basically occupies 4-5 DSP.

The plate would probably sell just as many instances at $99, and while 10-12k euro doesnt pay your house, it's still some months regular income in my country. I have no idea how many months of 8 hours workdays it takes to make that plate though.

My Guitarist is a young talented heart breaker. He often loves 'em and leaves 'em, yet they continue to stalk him as they cackle amongst other Hens in the audience.
The negative quacking attracts other Hens as they knew something really nice happened to them in the past, and that's why they are scorned.
So the new Hens get his attention and he adds to the collective. He's also wise enough to know that he can knock on thier door late at night and still get quacked at while he takes what he needs.
So when Soniccore eventually comes knocking, they too will throw back some legs....
