Hi guys,
Is it possible to build a device that would allow me to set an amplitude range that will allow me to hear that range only?
For Example if I want to hear the activity between 60-80dBFS I would set the monitor
and it will only emit the audio within that range.
Thanks

Re: Volume Monitor
j9k made modules that could do just that: a2d and d2a splits the signal's MSB/LSB into 8 parts... You can extract the bitrange you want, isolate it and manipulate it further.

split your signal into different zones with crossover modules run each band as you would say through a multiplier and setup some sort of bitchop scheme to duck the signals you don't want into the other input of the multiplier. lowpass filter your control signal mix it all back together.
as your signal goes through successive stages of crossover your signal in each band also decreases so you will have to compensate for that.
