Incompatible preset file warning

Post by krizrox »

Scope 5.

I must have hosed something. I have one particular project where everytime I boot it up, I get a little cryptic confusing warning window saying Incompatible preset file. Doesn't correspond to this device. Hit the enter button twice and it goes away. Tried saving the project under a different name. No difference.

What the heck does this even mean? What preset? What device? Any clues or thoughts? I don't want to lose this project or start over again.

Do you have a MasterVerb loaded somewhere?

They weren't doing it before. I've been using Scope for years. Never saw this before. How do you know it's the reverbs? There are plenty of other plug-ins active in this project. I guess I could experiment and see. I guess I'll have to if there's no other good suggestion.

It's a known Scope 5 bug.

Really? Why just this one project then? I have dozens of other projects in the works with virtually similar setups and they don't exhibit this problem. I've been using Scope 5 since almost the day it was released and never saw this before.

Anyway, thanks for the help and info. I'll sort it out when I have time.

Thanks for directing me to that thread Mr. Arkadin. Actually, that helped. I had a Masterverb reverb inserted (but disabled) on one of the channel inserts. Removing the reverb made the problem go away. At one time I must have been experimenting with the reverb on that channel but decided I didn't need it. I should have just removed it but all I did at the time was disable it. Funny though. I've opened and closed this particular project numerous times without incident. I wonder why it decided all of a sudden to just be annoying? Doesn't make sense but the problem is solved in any event. Thanks again.
