I need help to install Pulsar Soundcard

Post by olafmagnusson »

Hi to all, i need help to install this creamware souncard. I hope this is the right section to ask... Very well as I said we own a creamware pulsar soundcard, installation goes well 'till it ask the Activation Key. Now we own this Key, it's wrote on installation guide manual and it's something like this: 0042 : xxxx0xxx0xx. This key was wrote by old owner and there's no guide where to put it. I would like to know in what field or fields i should put this code, if i must to insert code with or without gaps and ":". Thank you very much

A number of things I would suggest.

Download the latest free version of Scope (Scope 4.0) from:
ftp://sonic-core.net/software/SCOPE_Fam ... .0_for_PC/

If you use Cubase 4.1 or later you may need this driver:
http://sonic-core.net/downloads/asiosco ... _patch.zip

Then email Sonic|Core at support(at)soniccore(dot)de with your hardware serial number - the email format is to stop spammers, replace the necessary characters. They should then be able to send you a new set of keys that will not only make your card work again but will add some extra goodies.

If you like what you see you might consider purchasing Scope 5.0 as this adds new reverbs (very good), other new devices, future support for 64-bit PCs and a new GUI.

i explain shortly: we don't want to change this soundcard because we can't, we have no money to do that. i'll send soon as possible SN to that address. I know it was registered, but old owner said that support was disbanded as creamware failed, that's why i'm asking here. he said also he owned the file for automatic installation with all bundle he bought. Ah... i tried to download drivers v5.0 from sonic|core, when i tried to install them a message appeared telling something like: "no device installed". I try anyway with those version you gave me...otherwhise i have (luckly) original installation disk. Thank you very much for all these infos

Yup, Creamware was the old company that has now ceased trading but was bought by Sonic Core, and they now support the cards as well as introducing some very nice new products such as XITE-1. Re your situation, as Mr Arkadin its best to contact SC and they will be able to advise you. And in the meantime try those links Mr Arkadin gave you, they should work fine. Yes, v5 will def not work but v4 should be fine.

Hope you enjoy your new Scope system. It is a wicked System and extremely flexible. And welcome to the Scope party :)

You have to pay for Scope 5.0, that's why I said to try 4.0 first as it's free.

Don't bother with that old install disc - it is very out-of-date. Just use Scope 4.0 for now and I'll think you'll be surprised (you will need a new key from Sonic|Core anyway from the sound of it, so you may as well use the newer software). You won't be able to use Scope 4.0 until you get the new keys - which as it's a Saturday won't be till next week sometime.

buying v5 doesn't require the changing of the soundcard, just the software that runs it. you can not just install drivers only. the driver and the software belong together, both are needed.

the Scope card is NOT a standard windows soundcard. it works differently and does much more. feel free to ask questions here after getting your keyfile from S/C. just write them and say "i have card serial number xxxxx(replace with the serial number on the card). may name is xxxxxxx, my address is xxxxx my phone number is xxxxx, my email is xxxxx, please send me the latest keyfile i am entitled to."(replace xxxxx's with your info) write "registration" in the subject line of the email.

support is NOT dead. Scope is NOT old. there is STILL nothing on the markety that is comparable, and it has been updated many time. unlike most computer gear, a Scope card is meant to last and be loved and used for many years. good audio gear NEVER becomes useless.

like 1176 compressors and eventide harmonizers, i know that... maybe you misunderstood me when i said so... It was only for soundcard age, not for its quality. just because we are second owners and it's not "New" anymore ;)

ahem... i didn't do a presentation before...
I'm a Sound Engineer with SAE diploma in sound engineering, my interests are in sound, music and recently in video. I used different DAWs, but i really like Steinberg (Germany forever) Nuendo, for it's flexibility (V4.0), it's graphics and more other cool things. I like going through the wild in my isle capturing sounds, like old sound designers (Ben Burtt). I play electric guitar and... i love Melodic Metal. I'm looking for work, a real work where my creativity and ideas can be applicated. As i said recently i'm learning something about video cutting, and using software like premiere, final cut and vegas. I hope to do a great work with this Pulsar, it's not mine... it's owned by municipality where i live, there's a ministudio where guys go to play and record and i help those with recordings... but if there's not a soundcard we can't record anything :D Don't worry if i've got troubles i'll let you know, (I hope no ehehe) Goodnight to all

Weekend service. Not bad for a company with an 11-year-old card to support, eh?

I think you will find a whole new lease of life for that card.
