four recent mixes

Post by garyb »

http://www.freedrive.com/folder/261869

these are a mixture of sequenced and real intruments, live and overdubbed.

Scope-wise, all feature the DAS 660, optimaster, BX digital, STW P100, Masterverb Pro and were mixed on the STM2448. most use the B2003 and Dynatube and Celmo's Bass amp modeler. there are also a number of other synths including Solaris, Pro12(Profit5), Prodyssey, Six String(clav), Goofy and Lightwave. you can also hear several Scope delays including Space F's surreal echo.

thee are also a few vsti's used, mainly some cheap Sampletank piano and Spectrasonics Stylus drums.

the Singer is Empress Amber. :D

Nice mixes.
Plenty of beef and then intricate work as well.
Funny how a Piano that " experts " might laugh at solo'd, works so well in a mix.
Tell Empress Amber she adds enormously to the process.

the "audience" part is always cool. the "only" part is the one that hurts....

ok, count me in... :D
funny stuff - the vocals on 2 mixes were ok, but just plain wrong on the other 2 in my ears... :-?
I'll have to recheck if it was just the transmission...
yeah, like yesterday...
that's why called it funny
the 'top row' (one life complete, eyes wide open) has a 'screetchy' voice, from time to time, similiar to blowing on a paper over a comb.
bottom row (sole affliction, InI Tea) has nice and smooth vocals

the rest is fat, mix is transparent

cheers, Tom

good catch, thanks astro.
actually, i think a lot of that is the mp3 player and the mp3 itself. the two songs you mentioned were certainly brighter.

Lovely guitar sound background and lead, warm sound when the melody is lead by both, the guitar and sax in unison.

Catchy groovy I’m moving my body right now :D I particularly liked the two last songs.

The sax sound reminds me to “The dark side of the moon”. Perhaps it is my love to this particular sax sound track, but would like some very soft chorus to this sax.

Warm relaxed music in general Gary, it’s a shame that the mp3 are in low resolution. Are you going to release it?

Overal, an exelent job!

Cheers :)

Well, :) best wishes so with this release Gary! I’m sure it will work very well when already in the shops. Many people will enjoy gathering around it in a family & friends like fashion, which is what it makes me feel.
