eLicenser

Post by fidox »

Hello !

I have problem with installing eLicenser to my audio computer.
I have WinXP, Intel Quad Processor configuration.
When i want to install eLicenser , i get following error , check image....

I have Net Framework 2.0 installed.
I don't have any problems while installing older version, before eLicenser control,
it was still from Syncrosoft.

Interesting thing is that on this computer, which i'm using just for internet, where i have old Celeron installed and
same version of WinXP, i can install eLicenser software normally,
so different is just hardware configuration....

Any help would be appreciated ,

Best,
Matej

Are you sure you are trying to install the right version? Seems like you're trying to install a 64bit version. But it's only a guess...

hey !

yes, it's compatible with Vista, WinxP, Win7 , 64bit or 32bit, no other version for download.
the thing is , i have normally installed the latest version on computer with Winxp (Celeron),
but have this error on my other audio machine (quad) also WinXP,
is it possible i have this error, cause of hardware and not software issue ?!?
i have freshly installed winxp , so i think it's not cause of corrupted system file....
just a thought

i think its a safe bet you are trying to install a 64bit exe on a 32 bit system. both the name of the file and the error displayed implies that.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

well, this setup is the only file from eLicenser site , which supports all ,

"Version: 6.0.2.7021
Size: 14.7 MB
Release: March 19, 2010
eLicenser: USB- and Soft-eLicenser
Supported operating systems: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista
and Windows 7 in each case as the 32-bit and 64-bit edition.
Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 required.
"

and why i can install normally that file on my other computer - older Celeron configuration,
also WinXp with no problem ?!

The only difference is in hardware setup.

What version of Xp did you install? :P

Though I doubt you accidentally installed Xp-64 and didn't notice it, I think that's probably an installer error on their part (or maybe you're lacking a .Net 2.0 update somewhere?) Can you try a different version of the eLicenser installer?

I have just one version of WinXP.
I have tried to re-install NetFramework 2.0, the same.
Em, yes , i have tried with earlier versions , but the thing is,
i have purchased new synth and while installing synth also eLicenser must be installed (new version),
cause it's integrated in synth setup.
Before eLicenser, there was Syncrosoft company and those versions works fine, but later with eLicenser not
anymore, no matter which version.

And also, like i mentioned, all those new versions from eLicenser works on my other machine (this one), where i have
older setup with Celeron , 875chipset, the same version of NetFramework 2.0
and my audio computer is Quad system where i can't install...

Thanks Janni for your guess, no , it's not SP2 or SP3 related,
it was the same on both packs...

It really confuses me, cause it works on my old Celeron box....
but my main audio computer is Quad and i have all registered software there,

the problem is , that i can install older Syncrosoft software and use Cubase + another synth i have registered there,
but i purchased new synth and it requires newest version from eLicencer,
now i'm in trouble, giving so much money and i can't use it now.... huh :(

Hey garyb ! :)

No, it's not lame, thanks for trying to help me.
Yes, ofcourse, i'm the only user, tried also safe mode and logged under administrator,

the same winxp, well almost the same settings , like on my copmuter (just for internet purpose),
works just fine....

Happend after i changed to new hardware i guess, cause i had on my old Intel Pentium 4 2.8, 875chipset
already installed newer versions from eLicenser.
Now i can just install older from Syncrosoft, but that doesn't support my new synth, i supports Cubase and few other software.

They should make just 32bit or 64bit version, and not all together, i think it messes something up....

Hmm, I just used the same release to update arturia synths on a friends system...
Everything went smooth (if you can call it like that, typing in hundreds of numbers,
waiting for keys to be generated by a website that has 404errors all the time, paisting
it in some weird software that is downloading stuff and so on... :x )
but it was on mac (snowleopard and macpro early2008 :D )
Sorry that I can't help, but maybe you have to wait a few days for the next 'bugfixed' release?
If you have a look at the release rhythm, it won't take too long...
I HATE DONGLES! ;-)

Hey Janni,

Well, i have the same problem with all eLicenser releases, just with older company
while there was still Syncrosoft works fine.
And i'm waiting for Waldorf Largo,
I have answer from Waldorf support, that everybody are at Frankfurt Musikmesse,
so it could take a while :(

Didn't get any message from Steinberg - Cubase, so all i can do is wait now...

I have tried all software for my motherboard,
Intel chipset, framenetwork 2.0 (32bit), the same s....

Still, and don't know why, same version winXP on my other computer (Celeron) works normaly, huh :-?

There should be just 32bit or 64bit version and not both versions in same setup.

It's got to be an installer error, or in some cases installers like WISE (used there, or installshield etc) can have their own issues when you have certain previous versions present on the system.

I once had an installshield bug with Xp that required I figure out how to manually clean out all older versions and manually update only the remaining current version. Unfortunately it's hard to tell initially if it's the install script itself or the installer without doing some digging on forums & google.

now i'm gonna wait for some other replies, i hope someone will figure out, why i can install on some system with same version of XP,
but different hardware configuration.

cheers,

Well I'm wondering if there's some WISE folders hidden somewhere (with various versions of the WISE installer) that you can perhaps troubleshoot. Or waiting until someone else does the hard work certainly helps your productivity.

Hi,
I wonder if you tried installing the elincenser from the command box using the overwrite "/o" function?

Cheers

A USB Hub helped me until I finally got tired of using Dongles.
I looked like I had a Dongle RAID Array......
Kontakt, Scope, Reaper and Bidule................. no BS, no dongles, no fees for " service. "
