Remember what I said about feeling a need to communicate on 'their level'? Really that first line doesn't relate to the subject at hand at all imo...
But regardless, there is no such thing as 'scientific fact' though we treat things that way for the sake of convenience. There are scientific theories which are upheld as being 'true for a given set of circumstances' or criteria etc. Until of course a better model (theory) is found that's more suitable to whatever circumstances are present at that later time.
Replace "this is that" with "it seems to me that such and such is so and so" and the subjective nature of the discussion is not only more apparent, but it becomes more difficult to become entrenched in immutable views of some kind of 'permanent reality' when you admit to the limited scope of our perceptions and 'scientific theories' during the course of discussion.
Of course that's inconvenient when the goal isn't to share, learn & discern...

I started this thread, and havnt replied until this post, I was intereted in what the general consensus on the issue was. I didnt expect this thread to turn out this way...
no... actually I probably did.
There is no doubt now, that the man made global warming theory is indeed wrong. Further than that it is now obvious that the whole thing is just a scam that has such a truthiness about it that it has easily been taken up as the truth by an ill informed, uneducated populus.
The truth has now started to leak out. And theres so much more. A report clearly stating that the alps will lose their glaciers by 2035. Turns out in the actual science paper written on the subject the date of loss of Alpine glaciers was 2350, but hey thats ages away, and not half as scary is it.
But my big question about this is this:-
If global warming is true, and its caused by man pumping to much co2 into the atmosphere then why do the governments not only do something about it. Indtead they enact policies that will actually make things worse.
They are intelligent people, with the most intelligent people around them giving advise. How can they possibly be ignorant of the consequences of their actions??? they cant, therefore it must be deliberate.
How are they making it worse??
Simple. We all know that recycling is good, yeh. Seperate your cans and jars, put all you paper in this bin and food waste in another... etc.etc.etc.

recycling paper, which the governments encourage everyday is not good, in fact its very very bad.

Paper is made from trees, right. These trees arent taken fom rainforests, they are grow specifically for the paper industry in huge tree farms.
Now the more paper we use, the more trees need to be grown in these farms in order to make more paper.
What do trees do? They suck in CO2 and young growing trees suck in more than mature trees.
So if we recycle paper, we drive all this weight around the country, nay, the world, creating a huge co2 footprint. Whilst managed forests stop being managed.
Or we waste paper, have to grow more trees in ever expanding tree farms in order to keep up demand, and suck huge amounts of co2 out of the atmosphere.
Which is really better for the environment?? seems obvious to me. Must be obvious to the governments. Yet still we all know recycling is the right thing to do. Hmmmmmm
This cant be accidental, or just overlooked. It must be deliberate.

There is so much information that refutes the 'official' line its rediculous. And now we know the official line is based entirely on falisified data and the misreporting of the facts. We all know polar bears are going extict...Wrong... there more than ever.
We all know the arctic ice is disappearing....Wrong....its not, NASA recently just descovered a falut with one of their sattelites that was underreporting the size of the ice sheet by about 50,000 square miles. The media report the loss of bears or the loss of ice. Truth be damned. The news didnt report the NASA satelite fault or the exploding polar bear population.
So the data is fake the conclusions are imaginary and the solutions ludicrous
But it is encouraging to see so many people who dont belive the lies, and infact have a much better ideas and solutions.
Lets hope we can work this out for real, before they manage to get the boot on our face... cos once its there it'll be there, stamping forever.....

stardust, that is crap. when a theory is confirmed by data that is untrue, the theory is untrue. it doesn't matter how much you might want the theory to be true. the level of sarcasm is getting out of hand. the deception has been admitted by the actual fakers. it's not really debatable.
it's even doubtful that the earth is still warming. you seem to be pretty earth conscious. i'd be interested in what real change you've made in your life to solve this great crisis. i'll bet it's not much. look, believing in global warming has nothing to do with being responsible or taking care of the earth. i use less petroleum by using an alternate, waste product for fuel and generate my own electricity because it's a good idea, not because of a bugaboo like CO2. in fact, blaming CO2 is like putting a big "i'm a stupid idiot" sign on your head. sorry, but it's too ridiculous. anyone who has studied life on earth knows how important CO2 is. humans aren't capable(at least in this day and age) of generating enough CO2 to make a great difference one way or the other, CO2-wise. one good volcano having a wild weekend outperforms human production for a year, and the earth is STILL at one of the lowest levels of CO2 in it's history, but climatologists know this. they know CO2 levels increase AFTER temperatures do as CO2 trapped in the oceans is released(most of the rise) and animal activity increases(a very slight component of that rise). human activity is a paltry decimal of a percent of all CO2. nothing that i've written is my opinion, nor is it some great secret. i don't care if anyone here believes me in particular, people can find out on their own, but there's no reason to pick a fight, especially from far away. it's cowardly. question sources, reasoning, whatever. just save the gobbledygook about chauvinism if that's how you're going to be. that's hypocracy.

this is not about spin or scientists being political. the theory is falsified by the FACT that the data used to vet the theory was made up! it's not about what "us" consumers do or don't do. consumers can be more responsible REGARDLESS of any theories.

I was talking to a doctor friend of mine once and advancing some sort of wild theory about his field of expertise and some pertinent observations of mine . His reply to me was " but Paul , you're a series of one " smartarse I thought but of course he was right(ish)
With regard to my series of oneness . Where I live we look to the sunset over a wide expanse of water so in the afternoons we get direct sun plus a shitload of reflected sun off of the body of water at certain times of year . For about the last 6 or 7 years I've been under the impression that things had been a bit brighter than usual . It could be ageing eyes , could be lots of things but that was my impression as the aforementioned series of one , It doesn't seem quite as bright right now plus we've actually had a summer this year that I would call a summer . The birds who call in for a feed have been breeding like crazy ,two sets of offspring in one season and this is the first time thats happened that I can recall over the last 20 odd years .So down here in Oz or more accurately the outskirts of Sydney it feels like things are looking up a bit . Wouldn't that be a nice change

I have to repeat this once again :/ GLOBAL WARMING MEANS AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OVER THE ENTIRE WORLD! Where the hell do you think snow comes from? I'll give you a hint, it comes from water evaporated from the ocean!!! Scientists never said global warming would mean it's warmer everywhere!!!! That is why it is now called global climate change. Please do make me say this again!!!!

It's major because the glaciers are melting and it's going to get worse. Four degrees change will be catastrophic leading to coastal cities (which are near sea level) to be under water. Billions depend on glaciers for water.

Brain, is that vertical scale in 1/10 degree (decimal in front) or is that a graphic artifact ?
2nd question: since when is flooding a coastal city a catastrophe ?
it's a natural process when building close to water, sometimes this way, sometimes the other way round - ancient Rome comes to mind

Not flooding, permanently under water. Ice reflects heat back into space, when they melt, the heat will be absorbed and it will become more hot.

yes, that's what I'd call flooding - it wouldn't help anway if the water went back again, as all the good things were completely spoilt anyway.
