Just been to see it again .what a buzz . Yeah yeah I know there'll be a critic out there somewhere but I thought it was great and I've been reading scifi for 50 odd years . I would have thought they could have come up with a better name for that mineral than unobtainium though :roll:
Nice to watch the military /industrial complex get a black eye , I guess thats what fantasy is for :)

The storyline is predictable and lame IMO, but the graphics and all the geeky tech aspect is great.

I saw it in 3D in Imax (really big screen), and I almost got vertigo from all the zooming and panning around.

yeah I know what you're saying..... the trouble is that if I only got into things where the storyline isn't lame/predictable then I'd have even more trouble being entertained than I do now . I nearly went and saw it at the imax down here in Sydney but the idea was to get my wife to see it ( who does NOT like scifi of any sort ) and I knew if I kept waiting for her to make the time to go into the city without being required to walk around shops for an eternity and being required to have an opinon on things I have no opinion of at all then I'd have to do a guerilla attack and get her into a local 3D show before she knew what was happening . The first time I saw it I found myself brushing the ash from the home tree off of my legs :lol:

I think the last unpredictable movie I saw was "Being John Malkovic"

Dialog = 4-
Technology =1
Art= 1
Music= 3-
Story= 6

The dumb ass mutates to the perfect hero, conquers a different race for leadership and saves the world of the different race.
Hm...imagine such a story had been published by a German. The world would scream.

Hey Gary go and see it . It's only twenty bucks or whatever you guys have to pay up there and in terms of value I know you can do a lot worse . Yep ,it's not an intellectual exercise and it is a riff you may have heard before ,but, for three hours of rather beautifull bullshit it's pretty hard to beat 8)
Pop isn't the only thing that eats itself :wink: It's got GUNS :) ... a bit of romance for the girlies ...Sigourney Weaver smokes like a chimney . It's a fairytale and its a fucking sight better than Matrix . You know William Gibson is such a good author and his early ideas were quite revolutionary........... although I must say the first instance of jacking in I came across was in Samuel R. Delaneys' first book Nova, it was Gibson who posited virtual reality rather than just jacking in for control purposes or pleasure like Niven used it .
