not enlightening me anything.
but thankz
anywebsite teaches us how to build a reverb with modulers?
not programing....

i built the bucket brigade delay (reverb) from that group of reverb tutorials...
heh, its pretty silly what the nord modular users go through to get a bit of a delay . j/k.
still a neat idea, but the effect of 90 clocked s&h's with externalized fb (i could only do 80) can be replicated with the use of a single channel of a tempo delay and a decimator which are linked in modulation. so that when you turn up yer delay the signal is downsampled increasingly. well actually, i had trouble controlling the delay time freq input but it could be done i assume. you'd also want to limit the delay time to a very small range.
because those tutorials are based around the nm, they won't be taking advantage of our ability to have considederably longer delay times. anyhow, i think i'll still have a go at the other ones. though quite daunting most of the rest look!
oh, btw....defex made a mod1 patch called rezonar which could be explained as a reverb of sorts. it is based around fedback filtered short delays in tau
delays can function remarkably well by themselves as reverberants.
i rather like the effect, but its no where near what a good reverb will sound like.
found it the other day in a search through some mod1 patches.
best.

"its pretty silly..."
Aye - there is no memory in the Nord Modular to use for delays - you can do some great things with it though - the Mod2 could learn some lessons from it. I'm glad I've got both.
If you want to learn about the ins and outs of reverbs you could do worse than peruse the source code of freeverb (Haven't got a link off hand but do a search). Very nice sounding 'verb thats open source.
My feeling is that whilst you probably could build some sort of reverb in the Mod2 it wouldn't be that useable.
cheers

I seem to remember (this is off the top of my head and may be totaly wrong) that you can make a comb filter with a delay of a very small numnber of samples and summing both the delayed signal and the original signal causing destructive interference.

Oh - and allpass filters whilst sounding very boring change the phase of the signal which of course introduces different kinds of constructive and destructive interfernce into the signal chain....

thank you for expressing some interest junklight.
i tried building a rather simple stereo reverb out of 8 mono delays, 4 phasers (think comb delays and all pass filters), externally fedback the 4 delay lines on each side with a low-pass filter in the loop , but while it could sort of sound reverberish....mostly no. plus its imposible to tweak any of the controls in tandem, outside of midi control...which i didn't try. but i imagine the coarse nature of cc's would make the control rather clumsy - as feedback, and delay time required very small adjustments (.001) to function somewhat decently.
i have decided to teach myself csound, so maybe i'll garner some more interest and understanding from that vast pool of resources and knowledge.
in the meantime....yes...stick with yer reverbs made by folks who know what they are doing ....but don't stop trying if that is what propells you.
who am i talking to anyway?
blah.
