inserts and midi

Post by lunaorbit »

I want to control inserts with external controllers using STM1632 mixer.
Midi works to control when placed in routing window but not as an insert in the mixer!

Is there a way of midi controlling the inserts or is this not possible.

Thank You

Normally, if you midi connected the mixer to the right midi module, it should work.
Midi works for the mixer but not for its insert, is that right ? Strange...

Which Scope version are you using ?

The mixer midi light flashes as it is receiving.

The lights on the inserts don't flash as there is no midi being received.

So it should work then, well that's kind of promising..

I am using scope 5

well, only my internet machine has v5, and it doesn't have interpole, BUT...
i tested the insert in v5 and it works well here. i tested interpole in my studio computer(still v4.5) and it worked perfectly....

Thank you...well I am stuck as I cant get the inserts to receive midi.
But I can place them in the routing window and rout it before the mixer.

But this is a tedious experience.

I also tried another mixer and still get the same problem of midi not going to inserts.

maybe an update will fix this..

hmmm, maybe another problem...this function works.

could you post a screenshot of your routing? what method do you use to set a controller? i realize these are probably redundant and pointless exercises, but there's a reason why it's not working. maybe if you remove the mixer and then reload it? i don't think that an update is required, since it works on my machine....

how is midi routed in the sequencer?

have you tried connecting midi directly from the ps midi source? are you sure everything is on the correct midi channel?

First thing I'd do is put a midi monitor on the SeqMidi IN to check that your midi is arriving as expected in Scope - correct midi ch, cc value etc.

Going in is good as expected.

no, it should send midi info when a controller assigned a midi control number is moved.

reread the manual.

just fyi, any output can feed multiple inputs, althouygh an input can only receive from one output.

i suspect your system is working fine. exactly what process do you use to assign a controller number ro a knob, fader or button?

I am sending controller assigned moving signals.
There is nothing coming out of the mixers midi out or midi to the inserts.

The midi only works with the devices when I route devices outside of the mixer.

Thank you for trying help.

I am off to find a very large bridge.
