Please comment on the mix/song.

I understood the universl language of music.
Danish sounds cool though.
The tune as usual is totally unique and I can only say it's very refreshing.
At first I could hear Wood Blocks doing Horse Hoofs in the background, like an intro to a Western gunfight. I spose that sounds odd,but I still love those old movies with the Whistles and Acoustic Guitars.
Then the 19thbear modern stuff blended in with what I percieved as Native Indian drum hits ( again I apologise for the visions I hear ) and I was groovin.
Nice ending too.
It really could fit in a movie well with a touch more of mastering.
As a vocal suggestion for an effect that you might find interesting.
The dry intro/verses are great as is, but when the backgrounds come in if you have the time, throw in Neutron's ADT ( automatic double tracking ) on the chorus and see if you like the changes. Instead of raising the volume, you can make it appear as though you are singing Unison into 2 tracks..
We do this live when I am forced to work with cackling Hens and it does sound good, but somewhat formulated.

Nice Job Though Thanks For Sharing.....

Nice melody and det er også en helt fin sang du har arbejdet med der ;)

The mix sounds fine and balanced to me. The production reminds me of how "they" did it back in the 70's and 80's, which might very well be perfect for a song like this. Personally though, I'd experiment with getting up close and intimate with the singer and his guitar - Radiohead style. Perhaps the intimacy could be introduced after the first chorus. I'm not sure if it would fit the song, but that is something I would try out if I were to work with this song, to get closer to it all, right now it all sounds a bit withdrawn to me - if that makes any sense at all?

Also, I like the drone that is being introduced near the end of the song, but I would try to emphasize the drone, by keeping it at a lower volume to start out with in order for it to "enter" the song first more unconsious and then with a stronger impact near the end - Again it's fine as it is, but I would definitely try this out and see how it worked, if it were my production.

Anyways, thanks for sharing :)

Would closer mic'ing or a totally dampened room make the sound more intimate..?
Nice thought for sure.
I am recording my live Piano gig with a 6" gap on the Grand Piano lid, it's OK but too rich harmonically.
So I opened up the lid more then it had too much background noise. Backed off of the mics and it became too withdrawn.
Live recording or tracking acoustic instruments w/ virtual gear seems so much harder than when we used Teac and Otari tape decks.
Funny thing the best mix was 2 x Mics and no Piano pick up.
I had a pair of Heil PR40's and a BBE Piano Pick Up and it was awful.
Now I use 2 mics and have one right above the harp/string port and the other 6 inches off the top of the strings.
After 10 recordings I still am displeased. It sucks as I have had several really good improv nights and I never usually like my own playing much... 8)

Look forward to your next mix. I wish more guys would do this here.

I will record next week again and if it's worth a dime I'll post it. But it's Avant Garde Piano since that's what the club owner wanted. He actually pretends there's a groove while I play.......weirdos.
