I bought on ebay.fr and they still put auction for such "tranquilpc" often.

The only thing is that they just ship to France but maybe you can ask them.

So, final cost of this small 1.5 U Fanless unit:

TranquilPC = 69 €
IDE 2 CF converter = 3,69 €
4 GB CF card = 18 €

total = 90,69 € !!!

Yeeees ... 8)

So price of both card is not that obvious:
- 1 old LUNA
- 1 Pulsar I SRB

Actually I bought the LUNA for 60 € (with such a project in mind).
The Pulsar SRB was bought 2 years ago bundled with a Pulsar I for 223 €, so let's assume it cost me 100 €

90,69 + 60 + 100 = 250,69 € for a 7 DSP 1.5 U rack system

With a Xite-1 price of 2 900 € by thomann, my "Xite-0.04" cost me 9 % of a new Xite-1 providing only 4.5 % of the DSP power of the Xite-1 and without providing the same plug-ins.

One more evidence that Xite-1 is ... cheap !!!

I finally received the long awaited IDE 2 CF interface I needed to close the rack ...

Now I am thinking about re-arranging my scope setup to "optimize" the plug-in available other the different computers equiped (hey, I started this setup before the Xite-1 announcement 4 years ago, it grows up slowly year after year...).

I will post some pictures as soon as everything is OK

Yep, except for the DSP power, "only" 7 DSP here.
I have another 3 DSP board with Mod2+Flexor 1.5, I will give it a try.
One silly question: I think Mod IV will need scope 5.0 but does scope 5.0 runs under windows 98 SE ? (actually it is the OS of my nano-XITE ...).

By the way, this project is in progress, here is a picture of the internal with the new IDE to CF interface (hidden under the IDE harness ...):

It would be nice to remote control those units from a laptop. I have tried that through wifi and a Teamviewer but seems quite slow and not very good video quality. Have looked for a wireless video emiter-receiver but they all are oriented to use an external monitor, instead of capturing the video to inside the pc..
Have any of you made the Masterverb test to find out the bandwith reach limit overflow?

Some of our friends are making it work:

I cannot try this because I have no labtop ... except for and old PowerMac Bronze powered by Mac OS 8 :D

Ok, so last update to my "Xite 0.04" was to change the Pulsar 1 SRB with no plug for a Pulsar II with some nice one.

So now it should be called "Xite 0.06" !!!

Here is a picture of the system running silently (except for the noise made by the synths)

I just noticed this unit is now almost as powerfull as my Noah Ex (9 DSP for the "Xite 0_06" versus 11 DSP for the Noah Ex).
But it is much more flexible, providing more plugs and it is much less noisy ...

By the way, Modular III is now on board so it should be a nice competitor for the Modular G2 engine ...

Thats a nice setup you have now!

Im working on a different heatpipe case (sort of a DIY version of yours) do the dsp cards get very warm in there?

I wouldn't expect the DSP to get warm ... but the PC CPU.
There is not more DSP as within a NOAH Ex and the Noah Ex Fan seem to be mainly dedicated to power supply.
From what I experienced so far, the external power supply get warmer than the external heatsink (which is quite big actually).
I believe the PC CPU make the whole stuff warm.
I will keep you informed when I have some more experience ...

Yes and it is all because you started this type of project.

Now I have to work on a companion midi controller based on MIDIBOX DIY board.

Severall ideas in mind:
- an hybrid hardware MIDI stepseq / MIDI controller
- an old school synth dedicated controller: a kind of MIDI only keyboard controller to remote control plugiator, scope plugs and NOAH (especially the Prodyssey, you will see why later ...)
