Modular IV

Post by dawman »

The CZ Oscillators are very nice. I have never used PD Synthesis before except for Neutron's Paradox, so now I must read up on it.
There's no pdf. or Manual section yet, but just what I have found in the new Modular has already answered several questions.
MVC C is new and has Unison Stacking so that's great for having a comping synth, and then jumping to a FAT Bass or Lead.
We have preset and patch names now also.
The Black background makes the whole new look very chic and the Modules show up in dark enviroments easily veiwable.
S|C is on a roll.
This is very, very nice and I gosta go,......Cheers.

That's a great read Shroomz....thanks.
I have matched the Waveforms shown in the article, and it appears as though we have the exact modules needed to build a CZ-101 in Modular.
A trained professional is needed for that.
I will try but my skills are quite limited still.
I know FAT when I hear it though, and this Dog Will Hunt.

Below are the 3 Resonance Oscillators.
The Trapezoid Wave looks really cool.
I won't get any sleep for a while.

Dude that guy is more feverish than I will ever be...
I can't even tell you what a pleasure it is to be around Jurgen & him.
They get so excited when they explain things, and being around guys like that is what has kept me in the business for so many years.
I have a group of geeky Bastards here in Vegas and we are all jazzed up about gear, music wine women and song.....etc.
Learning is the key to happiness, and guys like Holger and the S|C boys are just a gas.
I actually am priveledged enough to chat w/JBowen on the phone occassionally and try things, etc.
He is another 110% warrior.
When one surrounds himself with such devoted talent, it's hard to imagine trying to recieve customer support from a recording or email.....
I am happy you are so happy....
Ain't life Grand..?............... :D

I got an email from Holger at 3:30AM Germany time two days ago.

Crazier schedule than mine, that's for sure.

You can tell they're getting ramped up for NAMM.

I am insane from no sleep, 19 hours of Modular and now I go to my 2 hour Piano job.
I only beg and pray that I am not tormented and wake up stumbling towards my DAW again.
Modular IV has given me nightmares.
I can relate to Holgers odd schedule.

To Diaper Jim, Scope is his weapon............Modular,...... A way of life.

Oh BTW, The dot inside of the XFade Control Module would be awesome if I could create a spiral pattern automated.
We now have these new modules listed under Chaos, they are the Lorenz and the Roessler Retractors. For those in the know is there a way to use these mathematical modules to assign a pattern to the the dot ..?

Have you yet tried loading any of these into Mod IV?

It's all new territory to me to even THINK about where to start building what I'd like.

my first keys didnt work, sent an email containing my request key and holger sent me a working key.

i havent gotten further than pairing a p1 oscillator with a p5 filter, and seriously, this is worth the price alone.

Anything that makes a connection from what I have been told.
I can't wait to see someone smile for winning Modular IV for free.
It's such an excellent addition to what we already have.
Have fun Brotha' Man Hollo.

Jimmy, to make a spiral pattern for the x-fade you can use another modular before this one with 2 val monitor+'s one with a sine the other with a cosine (run the lfo's through a mixer first if you want to control the amount), then assign the cc's and run the midi into the other modular and assign the same cc's to the x-fade, you know how it's done, that's one way to make it work easily it just involves an extra modular but atleast you get to hear how it sounds, it'd be great for these x-fades to have mod ins really.

I had the same problem and Holger sent me another key on saturday at 17:38 (!!!).
That was really kind of him as I really want to try this one (the CZ osc were one of the only thing I miss from the scope system), but it also does not work so I send him back the "request string".

Meanwhile I just installed scope 5.0 on my test PC and everything just went flowly (I received my keys together with the Modular IV temporary key), every device works ... except for the Mod IV.

Now waiting (as patiently as I can) for another key to get this one work for a while ...

:D My problem was about key writing (O versus 0 mismatch).
Now it works !!! :)
Starting to explore the possibilities of Mod IV ...
Sounds great.
